Yeah, temps may kill this before it begins. I guess the guys that went on Tues got the goodness.

    CAIC yesterday:

"Ambient air temperatures look to be approaching the freezing mark the next few nights, which would indicate only a weak freeze overnight. This is not good, however, the clear skies will help with radiational heat loss from the snowpack which should help with an overnight freeze. Given the over-all warming trend, it will be important to plan routes that get you off avalanche terrain fairly early in the day. With the above mentioned potential for deeper weak layers, plan days accordingly.

There were a number of natural and human triggered wet loose slides on Tuesday around Summit County.

Even though recent activity has not been very large, terrain traps could make a so-so situation go bad quickly. "

SFB is, er, relatively trapped terrain.

I would also very much be down for SFB or something nearby in the AM, but I also have not not done that line.

I'm kind-of a newb to the Loveland side of things, so if anyone is heading up near A-basin I'd enjoy tagging along. You'd also get the bonus of my amateurish picture taking skills.

I have lots of brats, beans, chips, and beer to share. A 2 burner propane and pots and pans if anyone needs to use, a bag of charcoal for whomever is bringing the grill, and a random collection of assorted condiments of dubious age that may or may not be edible.

my fucking plane from JFK to SLC is delayed by 2 hours. This means that in 4 round trips in the past 8 months, I have yet to have a trip that was within an hour of being ontime. Assuming that Jtrue and co are down with leaving at 3am, we should be rolling in by 10ish, but if it delays any more, I might not be able to make it. Fucking jetblue, jetfuckyou.

I hit Shit For Brains this morning and the snow was not that great. There was half frozen avie debris all the way down. Still fun, but the snow was far from ideal. There are way better lines in that area right now for that hike.

just talked to jtrue and his buddie, departing park city at around 3am, look for the green subie w/ giant thule box and 3 caffinated people in it around 9-10 am, hopefully sooner because I have a penchant for speeding. we'll look for the big group of maggot cars. Also, I know Deep days has the comps, but how/where/when can we find him to pick them up, I'm hesitant to set a solid meeting point seeing as I cannot be sure when we will arrive?

I hope all was good, as I was unable to go due to some PUNK ASS kids breaking my car window, stealing my iPod, CD's, and a pair of sunglasses. Now I get to spend 500 bucks on my deductible to get the window, the tint, the dash dent removed, and other misc damage fixed. FUN TIMES...

good time with you guys on saturday. sorry i seemed to disappear about 6pm. the gf and I were transitioning our stuff up to the last chance lot. she was carrying a box of shit and tripped and fell on a hill and sprained her ankle pretty badly. so, we ended up leaving and going to summit medical center to get it taken care of. never made it back out after that. still, a good time.

thanks to pow4brains, deepdays, nick_pappagorgio(sp?) for getting there and claiming a spot. phish, thanks for the keg beer. i was pretty shitty by the time the lifts closed.

the sign was facing the slope, not the parking lot - if you were walking down the lot and missed it. sorry to have missed you... we'll have to swing 2 mini's next season.

I missed the sign too, and took several laps down the beach. Oh well, next year.

I've heard of situations where certain people had a case of CD's and DVD's in the car... one friend had a pair of expensive ski boots in the trunk. that way the deductible wasn't an issue.
