Thanks a lot. It took 2 artists a total of 12 weeks to do the work. If you look at the tank the gold is actually hand applied gold leaf. It shimmers in the sun. Here is a story about me and some of my boys and our ride across the country on the bike:

Not to kill the stoke again but what the fuck is up with these biker idiots riding way to fast for the road? This afternoon I was following my sister just north of where she was clobbered the other day and it just about happened again. A big posse of bikers was zipping right along and two of them took a corner too fast and ended up in her lane. Luckily she saw the first ones coming and slowed way down and got to the outside of her lane because if she was in the center of her lane there would have been another collision. As it was the guy missed her (new) car by inches.

If you're going to ride a bike... let's see if I get this straight Blurred... Learn to ride? Fucking morons don't realize the person they kill might not just be themselves.

Edit: I don't think I've ever been so pissed off at another motorist on the road as I was at that biker. If he had plowed into my sister he and/or his bike probably would have been flung into my car. Assuming my sis and I were ok, I probably would have beaten that fucker up (he would have been an easy target lying crumpled on the street) for being such a dumb ass. Then I probably would have been beaten up by his many friends. Then I probably would have been arrested for assault.

Just got back from another cold ride too. Right around 30 degrees, not much wind...but once I got moving, it wasn't as much as I'd hoped it would be. Another couple weeks and it should be warm enough. It better be anyways...I want to hit the track early this year.

Awesome thread ! My first street bike was a 2 stroke-1976 RD400 at 16, soon as I got my permit. Been riding my RMX 250 for the last 10 years, racing harescrambles and lots of sunday dawn patrol woods riding ....but I am PINING for another street bike.Even an old FJ1200 would be better than no bike.

That Road King is outstanding! I am far from a fan of theme bikes, but that is beautiful. I wonder if Manhattan Oil Products makes a fuel scent for Fine Cigar???

There's a guy in california who bought the Norton, Vincent, and Royal Enfield names and is supposed to be making reproductions. I saw an article last summer in the Robb Report motorcycle issue.

I think the repros will be much cheaper than finding an original, but still in the $50k range
edit: i didn't realize that was one of the new ones. I think they have a showroom in Vegas
edit 2: How the fuck do you make a bike this beautiful and give it a gutless 80hp engine?

I had a slow day and was on a site pricing mods for my bonnie...
Closed the page when I got to $4k worth of parts...scary what you can do to a bike with a little money to throw at it.

What do you think of the Bonneville? A newer model or vintage? I'm getting closer and closer to pulling the trigger on a new one.

Yeah, that Norton is especially beautiful, although 80hp is pretty facking weak.... I saw something around 20k but info is REALLY hard to come by.

i have an '06 bonneville black. I love it. it is a little weak at 62hp, thus the search for mods. but it is a great commuter and short weekend trip bike. scroll back a few pages and you'll see pics...it looks so much like the early '70s versions that I constantly get stopped by old guys asking about it.

well worth the money in my opinion, if you are looking for an everyday bike and don't want to spend too much.

Wow that is sick, how did they make a commando with every aspect, and detail of the old on, and make it look so modern.

i'm gonna have to find some pics of my ride.

Good idea! Then SQUIDs like you wouldn't stand a chance. She wouldn't even feel it when you whip into her lane and get crushed under her chassis.
