yay! friends. Tradygirl, I'd love to go touring on Saturday. I brought my skis and should probably use them even though it's balls warm and I'm sort of in bike/climb mode. What's the plan?

Also, any potential bike/climb partners, I should probably add this disclaimer: I've been out climbing and riding once this spring, and I've sucked both times. Definitely not in summer sport shape yet! Also, I'm not a super gnar climber, 5.10 is about my limit and that's in midseason. So if you're heading out for some 5.12 action I'll probably pass. However, I'm up for almost anything, so if you guys can put up with me being slow/sucky for awhile I'd love to go out.

Midget, I'm out here on a clinical rotation for a couple of months. So I didn't really have a choice for when I came out. I chose here because GFP and I are thinking of relocating here after I graduate, within the next few years, so I figured I'd see if I liked it.

Tri-U, we need to get together at some point! I heard you effed your knee? That sucks... you should go to PT at Mountain Land Rehab on 1300 E/3900 S and I can be your therapist. In fact, all of you should come and let me practice on you.

GFP's not out here with me, but he'll come visit for a weekend at some point. He'll probably bring the climbing gear.

I work MWF 7-3 and T Th 11-7. Any other times I can do stuff. So give me a buzz, and leave a message so I can call you back!(schmoe.)

She'll be riding her bike with her work friends, so it'll just be us! We need a break from house things....

Oh, and FYI...don't forget to lock your windows all the way at night. Snowfire full on "broke" into our house last night, as she forgot her keys inside when she went out. I heard a huge bang, jumped out of bed and saw a shadow in the kitchen...I slowly poked my head around the corner thinking some person was coming into our house...I then heard her laughing and was relieved it was just her. Doh!

Present. What can I do for you?

Welcome to Utarded Land. If you make it to "Northern Utah" you are welcome to practice on my knee too.

Hopefully I can bounce back soon enough to get down to meet you.

Flyk, you suck at returning phone calls and also since you are off, come up and lets party while I am still semi mobile, biatch!

oh wow... that was an experience. I felt horrible since it was only my 2nd night staying here and I'm already breaking in. Well, I went out with shmoesmith for tigerstripe40's bday, and when he dropped me back off at the house I started to rummage through my purse for my keys. "oh shit" feeling rushes through me as I realise they're not there. Now, I never forget my keys at home since I need them to lock the door behind me, but when Schmoe pulled up to get me AC and DTM had just pulled in as well, and I was on the phone with GFP, so it was all hectic and apparently they got forgotten.

Flash forward... in a panic I call Doug to see if I'd left them in his car. I hadn't. Figuring I had left them at the bar somehow, I took a deep breath. I'm a resourceful person, I can find my way in. I start by ringing the doorbell. Multiple times. Hmm, nothing. I call AC's phone, and I can hear it ringing through the door. Shit, it's on the entry table. I don't have DTM's number.

Then I felt horrible about it, but decided to start throwing sticks at their bedroom window. God, it felt so college. Then I didn't feel too bad anymore because it didn't work anyways. Ok, think. There HAS to be some way in. By this point I really had to piss, so I wandered down the street to some bushes and did the deed.

Came back and started checking all the windows in the front to see if any were open. None were. All of the sudden I remembered that while DTM was cooking dinner earlier, the little window above the kitchen sink was open. I ran around back, got a long stick and started poking at the closed window. Sure enough, it wasn't locked.

I couldn't reach it from the ground, so I dragged the big recycling bin over to the window. One jump try and the bin and I ended up sprawled out on the ground on our backs. Oops. I pulled up a box and managed to grunt my way up onto the bin like a beached whale. Still a bit of a jump to the window. I opened it, took a deep breath and launched. Some shit fell into the sink. Crash, bang. Oops. I was about halfway in when a light came on. "It's just me, I got locked out!" I said as I was cracking up laughing and AC's head peered around the corner. I was relieved as I half-expected to see DTM with a shotgun. In I climb, feeling quite sheepish and very un-professional. And there were my keys, right on the counter where I had left them.

So that was my 2nd-day escapade. Today I about shit myself on a trail run. It's been an interesting 4 days in SLC so far. Lock your windows mags, or I may crawl in.

Uhh, about that offer to climb with you: The thing is, I lost my rope. Also my dog ate my climbing shoes (all 3 pairs.) And my harness melted, in the sun, in my trunk.

All happened today, too. Weirdest thing.

Funny story. Anyway, my knee is recovering well, though I might hit you up for some PT advice. I'll actually be working just down the street from your work address in a couple of months, though you might be outta town by then. Knee might get in the way of heavy duty biking and climbing, but that would be fun. Plus I'm waaaay outta climbing shape and can't remember the last time I redpointed 5.12 - maybe a decade ago?

Phunk, if I didn't know better, I'd bet on you as one of the better climbers around. You're positively built for it! Try flashing 5.11 with a sizeable meatjacket on and then talk to me.

SF--Welcome to SLC. Hopefully I'll venture down and meet up with all y'all around OR.

Sorry lady, but I'm out for touring tomorrow. I managed to separate my shoulder at Snowbird today (D'oh!). Hopefully I'll be back on my bike/skis soon (if the snow sticks around) and we can get together. In the meantime, have fun "warming up" Phunk's climbing shoes.

Snowfire needs to learn how to take a crap before she leaves the house...

On a side note...I went for a trail run yesterday and had to take a dump the whole time. I seriously thought I was going to, ummm, well....I made it the whole run luckily.

SF and I are riding bikes tomorrow morning, then DTM and I are going skiing in the pm if anyone wants to join us.

I did something newish behind Glenwild (near Silver Creek, below The Preserve) yesterday. Unfortunately, I'm an idiot and didn't catch the name. Other than being bumpy like a new trail, it was in really good shape on all aspects. A couple spots of mud from surface water, the longest was ~6 feet.

I bet everything else around there is pretty good to go.

Also, the breaking and entering story makes me happy.
