    TR X-Wing Rally Part 4

    Part 4
    Tignes / Val disere
We arrived just before dark after a very crazy and fast drive. I think the kid stained his pants. Ooo boy can that Saab go and handle well. None the less we arrived right on time with no penalty. Traffic was a bitch.

We checked into the great hotel (damn hot tubs are closed, son of a bitch !) this would be a re-occuring theme all across Europe. They need to learn what hot tubbing is about. We had some drinks at the Grizzly bar that was owned by a whacked out crazy French man that thought he was Grizzly Adams or something. (curse me for not brining my camera)

We awoked to clear skies but it quickly changed before start time to a white out. Buddy Jay had his pole broken on the first lift by a anxious Brit dropping the safety bar as soon as we loaded catching his pole against the ground and breaking it. Note this was also a re-occuring theme across the alps. Watch your head you have been warned. They love slamming them down as soon as they sit down and to hell with anyone else. Fuckers !

We hit a few checkpoints then hit the GS course. We did okay here but never found out the results. The rest of the day was spent tucking and racing along the many flats that act as traverses to get to chairs and checkpoints. Was a “bullshit” day of just getting checkpoints. Not much quality skiing here as visibility was so bad you dare not go off the piste.

Would love to go back as from the chair we could tell this place is great and again FRIKIN HUDGE. At least 5-6 Lake Louises. Mind boggling how much terrain they have and don’t’ even ski.

We rushed in to hand in pictures and watch, and loaded up the cars to head to Chamonix

sorry my camera batteries died and I had no others as the charger would not work on 50 Hz, reccomend to all to remember the inverter as well as the wall plug in adapter.

    Welcome to Europe !!!

I think more than 3 pictures are allowed per TR.
You can automatically resize it when you upload it on photobucket.
    There is somewhere an option.

These photos were taken by my buddy of Tignes / Val Disere

    This train was wicked cool

We stood here trying to hitch a ride back to the start as it would have been faster (10 mins) instead of riding the lifts back (1.5 hours) as a strategy to get another check point. We ended up using the lifts and not getting more checkpoints.

Robin Lenell goofing around. We tried to ride this tram up to get the very highest check point at the end of the day, sadly the next tram up was closed. Damn.
