Did anyone catch the This American Life podcast a couple weeks ago about stories that take place in the shadow of a city? The one about the young russian kid who is "into radical, psychedelic experiences" and got shipwrecked on the island out in NY harbor had me laughing out loud.

Oh shit, that endeared me to her at that point. She's fucking great. Probably the only interviewer in the murk of media who would call out an asshole like that.

I'm listening to yesterday's right now about our wonderful private military contractor, Blackwater Inc.. Fascinating stuff.

I was an original recipient of the Little Mermaid message. You can all line up to touch me now. Please, no shoving. Perhaps you should take a number.

    Yeah!

And I hate the pseudo-progressive, fake-alternative nature of NPR's reporting. ALL THE NEWS THAT THE CORPORATE SPONSORS WANT YOU TO HEAR, AND NONE THEY DON'T.

terry gross is far more intelligent than most interviewers these days, she always seems to have a decent knowledge about the subject matter that she is discussing. Its good to see some one who takes the time to do their research
