    06/07 Fischer Watea

So I've just spent the last half hour reading all I could search up on the Watea.

Did they stiffen up the new ones over the 05/06?

I am looking for something friendlier as a one ski quiver than my 193 iM103's.

Sure the 103's are great when I have a huge untracked bowl and get to open them up, but I think they are too much for alot of the other stuff. They really need to be moving at mach speed to feel at home on them.

Is it going to be too soft coming off the 103's and SUPER stiff Bros? I picked up some 180 CMH sploders for a touring ski and they feel outright soft and tiny sometimes, but it could be the freerides that are messing with me when I switch between the skis.

So whats the word on the 06/07 Watea?

Or recommend something else in the 190 100mm range, no twin tips.

just demoed these babies last week... They're stiffer than my got's, and feel more confident on ice/hardpack. I also noticed they were a little lighter in the air, popping off moguls and such. Pretty turny for a fat(ish) ski.

    But how much?

Would I shat my pants trying to straightline something like this on them?

The heads love this stuff, but are just feeling like too much work on everything else. I want a ski that I don't have to work soooo hard on every turn but still hold up when cranking it up.

15% stiffer I was told. Mostly right underfoot thru the shovel. Tail is the same. Definitely not noticable in the shop, but something you can feel on the mountain. Not the best, but a decent one-ski quiver.

Not the raddest straightline ski in the world, but they'd handle something like that in your pic. They definitely like to be on edge in a big carve...

thats pretty much how i felt about my 189 squads, you should consider 194 lp's, still burly but probably a lot more manageable than the 103's. less stiff, wide, long, and heavy.

ps. that picture doesn't do it justice

i think the watea is too soft for a one ski quiver. i like my wateas, and i love them in the trees or in soft snow, but other skis perform better on windblown, crud or in straightlining stuff...
but if you have got the m103s for this, the watea would be a nice ski for the trees or cruising around...

I'd be selling the m103's and SUPER stiff Bros to off set the cost of new skis. So I wouldn't have a mondo stiff ski anymore, kinda why I wanted to know just how much stiffer the new Watea is.

I'll have to look at trying to demo some sticks this weekend.

Grapedrinks pic shows Elevator better, the run out can be a chopped up mess. There are a bunch of similar straighlines around WB that run out into bowls. Will the Watea fold like a floppy noodle on the run outs?

    I am 6ft about 175.

In chopped up crap? Yes, it'll fold, unless you're on edge carving. About the only good ski for that are LP's, Titan Pro's, and BSquads.
