Every once in a while POWDER prints letters from prisoners looking forward to skiing again after several years in the pokie, and I look forward to reading this guy's letter.

I recently said fuck all to HS and have decided to move west, hopefully getting into some comps soon. Problem is that I am broke and have no money for passes or tickets. I have a plan but my research is getting me nowhere. Which mountains take checks for lift tickets? Specifically, I want to know if Alta and the Snowbird will take my check. I plan on being in Chile by the Spring so I am not too worried. Thanks and fuck you.

You don't need advice, you need a swift kick in the ass. EDIT....Immediately followed by a crisp smack upside the head.

Maybe if we all ripped snowbird off they would raise tickets to $75, $100, $150! and then eventually less people would ride there, so they would cut back on the pass price and everyone could afford to shred it, but nobody would ride there anymore cause it got to spendy...

    How old are you???

This has to be the dumbest, "I want to be a pro-skier" plan I have ever fucking heard of.

Being as smart as you think you are, take a guess how many ski resorts are going to take a check from an out of town teenager? Not to fucking many would be my guess.

Atleast you can get your GED in jail/prison.

LoafLover is the douchenozzle who poaches at a hill, fucks himself up, then sues the resort for getting hurt. While your at it, sue McDonalds 'cause your coffee is too hot...

Do yourself a solid and graduate. At least you wont have to take your GED classes in the clink.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Alan Greenspan has joined the board. Please, write a discertation on the macro-economics of one guy appropriating some snow from the fat cats in OOtah.

By the way, I don't need justification (the plan is moving forward), just names people, names

    Fuck you guys-- haters.

This guy has this sweet plan, and all you guys can do is bitch about it. I think you should do it, kid. Quit school-- it works out for most people, and almost everyone here will tell you how much HS sucked anyway.

College is just for dorks, you don't want to do that. Besides, you sound smarter than most professors.

And, what would me more exciting than life on the lam in Chile! A country where life is cheap and extradition between there and here has been anything but smooth since the revolution in '73!

Don't ever let anyone stand between you and your dreams, kid. Honestly, I think you could do it and get away with it. Don't let the fact that it would fuck up the rest of your life keep you from your awesome season living the dream!
    It's idomatic, beatch.

honestly the best decision I ever made when I left home at 16 to ski around the world was to steal my mom's credit card. The worst decision she ever made was not to cancel it until it was WAY THE FUCK too late.

Do like my Bro did - graduate high school, get into college, get student loans, and SPLIT. In his case he moved to Maui, but that's a mere detail.

Hey asswipe...its "dissertation" and the impact of "one guy" would hardly be a macro analysis.

Apparently, I am not all that bright. Maybe I should re-evaluate my western exploits.

By the way, the broad economic implications (regardless of source, i.e. one man) referenced in Nik's post requires macro analysis. You got the cart before the horse chief.

I am about done with you guys. I actually have some shit to do today. Poking holes in your inane retorts is so 10th grade. I am not some rookie here. I have thought this thing through. I just wanted a bit of inside info on payment standards at western resorts.

    More accurate:
LoafLover "Yes I'd like lift ticket please [after finding the most inept and harmless looking girl selling tickets"
Ticket person " That will be ($$whatever they are charging this year)please"
LoafLover " Will you take my check [requested later series numbers from bank]?"
Ticket person "Sure do, but I see you have an out-of-state check and ID. We cannot accept that."
LoafLover "Really? Well, I have my military ID for added verification. I just returned from over seas and have been touring resorts for some down time with my fiancee. My credit cards are all still inactive due to my military absence."
Ticket Person "I suppose we can make an exception"
