See the power of Al in full effect! It is raining here in Geneva, but looks like a possible change over on the Jura (foggy now...but will update in the AM if it clears)

Seems to be drifting down nicely at Les Arcs - hope that the Aiguille Grive couloir nord will be in condition, that'd be a nice tick (Though I doubt it )

good to see that the snow is finally coming. The alps season is mirroring the sierras here in california. We've only had one dump that was a couple feet and we are starving for more.

But hey, 26 days until im living in the swiss alps, SO IM DOING MY SNOW DANCE FOR YURP!!!

    Teleal,
which direction were u facing when you did ur snowdance?
Towards La Quille du Diable (the Devil's Bowling Pin)???

    if yes, u skunked us.
    - over 48 hrs most precip fell along line from Geneve-Jura-Zurich. w/ snow levels well over 2000m.
    - cold front not arriving Tues/Weds...now arriving Weds/Thurs.

good news, snow levels will drop to ~1000m Weds/Thurs.

bad new, snow levels pop back up to 1600 - 1800m Fri/Sat.

    OK, we got precip...
now, we need that cold air mass to make its home in Valais!!!
Yesssss : (stolen from SkiPass weather gurus)
Forecast for the french alps :
    Wenesday
Snow over 1500m on southern and northern alps, overnight for the south.

    thursday
Snow in the morning for the southern alps, above 1300mm
Heavy snowfalls north and south during the night above 2000m.

    Friday :
snow above 2000m for the south. going down to 1300m during the day.
Snow likely for the north, but ligther.

    Friday night
Snow over 1000m all over the alps.

Then, return of a mild weather...

What we need is a cold dance !

Um ya, definately just checked the wabcams at Leysin and it looks like they got a decent dump...a report if it reached the Base area of the resort at 1200m would be nice?

    TeleAl, Ripz?

Looks very very nice at the top!!!

about 15-20cms around here. there's only about 2-3cms at the bottom of leysin, which will burn off quickly today. central/east switz did a little better, prolly more like 20-25cms.

but there is more coming tonight/tomorrow.

    /fingers crossed

"Cerrano wants some extra power for tonight. He's looking to sacrifice a live chicken."

Do you think that the Cerrano style will help bring the snow? I am starting to get into the "whatever it takes" category!

So again, SF is forecasting +50cm in zinal tomorrow
So adjusting for snowforecast errors we come to 25cm which isn't to bad.
    Because they are there
