    Covert vs. Anarchist (32L)

I'm looking at getting an avalung pack. My question is what big difference between the covert 32L and the anarchist 32L that results in a 70 dollar difference. Obviously they have a different style. I like the looks of the anarchist better, and the stretchy helmet pocket sounds really cool. I'll probably be doing less 'out the gate' and more day trips. Looked at the 42L but I don't think I need that much size, particularly on those 'out the gate' kinda days. Any input, any significant reason I should spend the extra 70 bucks on the anarchist?

I have nothing to ad but I forgot how much I'd like one of these. Covert 32L looks sick.

Also, go to BC.com and talk to one of the online people. I was checking out these packs and "talked live" with one of the gearmonkeys within 3 seconds. Pretty cool. Maybe they'd have some insight for you...

Anarchist is a top-loader if that makes any difference to you.
I've got more suits than Liberace, but less than Eastvailhucker.

Z, I already did that. I really like live help, though in this case the gearhead didn't realize that they come in multiple sizes. From what I gathered, the anarchist has a side pocket, one in the lid and the stretchy helmet pocket (sounds awesome to me). I'm leaning towards the covert, anarchist is just too much.

I'm on the verge of picking up one of the Coverts...just waiting till the itch gets bad enough before I pull the trigger.

Pick me up one too while you're at it.

I'm pretty much there, just realize the bc.com mag discount isn't valid on north face, so the money I thought I could save on my jacket is going to be made up in going for the covert. Unless the discount is supposed to cover TNF?

Looking at the pictures in the other thread pretty much convinced me.

    Last Edit: Trigger = Pulled

The $70 difference (I think) is because the Anarchist has aluminums suspension stays that help distribute a heavier load. Also the add'l side zipper into the pack.

I don't like the vertical zipper of the Anarchist's shovel pocket. I have a BD Stealth which has the v. zipper & it's a pain. The pocket on the Covert is much faster for retrieving shovel/handle/probe from. IMHO

Anarchist is a toploader... not so nice... but it does seem to have beefier suspension... $70 worth? Beats me...

Its less than $70 if you get a good discount, and YES it is worth it.

    Much much more comfortable.
And besides, I do like a top loader (plus this has a side access zipper - so best of both worlds.

But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
    Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason
