Well I don't know about anybody else but summer time is playing ball for me. Anybody else lacing up the cleats for the summer?
My first league games are tonight, and first tourney is this weekend outside of Montreal. I can't wait. :biggrin:

I'm playing with some friends in a rec league in Boulder... if anyone wants to fill in once in a while, let me know- we're almost always short a guy or two.
I start playing here just after Memorial Day. We were supposed to start 6 weeks ago, but our manager collected all of our money, yet failed to pay the league in time.
We ballin', son. I fucking love it.
Ya man. Nothing beats playing ball in the summer. Just like skiing if I could play everyday I would be a very happy man. Here's to a safe summer for all of us. Especially pitchers. Where a helmet pitchers, I do when I get stuck pitching. Thank God I mostly play SS and LC.:cool:Quote:

I'm not playing this year since I switched jobs and my old team from the last two years at my old job kinda disolved. In fact, I think some of my old team mates are in jail.
Anyway, it was fun. I might help a friend out coaching his son't baseball team. He is 7 and is in the pitching machine league this year.

Hey TJ, I hate to break it to you, but you've got your ups and downs mixed up. In baseball, you actually swing down on the ball.... in softball, at least in my experience, you should swing more straight across, maybe a little bit down (not an uppercut though, that's for sure).
In my transition from baseball to softball, I found that the best way to look at a softball swing was to try to make it as long as possible, compared to a short baseball swing.

I got trapped robbed of a HR last night in the bottom of the 9th. 325 fence with a 25' high net fence that goes around the field above the chainlink fence so balls don't go into the river. I had runners on 1st and 3rd with two outs. We were down by 3 runs. I smoked a laserbeam strait away center field. Yan the RC fielder trapped the ball on the net fence and they still called it a catch. We got a good laugh out of it because it was so obvious what he did and the umpire still called me out. ;p
