I'm relatively new here, but was wondering if anyone had some advice on things to do in Breckonridge (besides ski as much as possible). I'm going with 5 college buddies and we're leaving our families behind. Good restaurants, bars? Any recommendations on runs to hit? I can handle most terrain (except my knees don't allow any hucks) and this is my first time in Colorado. Alpental, WA is my home mountain. Thanks.
yes, While in Breckenridge, drive to keystone or vail....best advice you will get here as far as skiing goes...
As far as other things to do, getting drunk is rather easy in breck...

i think breck is the flattest ski resort I have ever skied. i hope you like lots of flat groomers crowded with cowboys, if so you chose the right resort.
o whatever, don't listen to the haters, while breck is not my favorite summit resort (in fact its prob my least favorite) it IS prob the most fun summit town and the skiing isn't all that bad. Anything off chair 6 or imperial is fun, and horseshoe bowl can be a blast...just avoid skiing on the weekends!

I second the drive to Vail, Keystone, A-Basin,etc.. idea, it's worth the drive time to get the better terrain...Vail is my fav of them all. Breck isn't a great mountain, just about every other place around it is. good luck with all the clam in Breck.
You'll have a great time skiing Breck. It's hudge. There is plenty of steeps, trees and powder stashes to keep you happy. The best stuff is accessed by some short hikes. Crowds aren't any worse than anywhere else, just stay off the lower peak 8 areas, where most of the tourists are.
Imperial bowl, whales tail, windows and Mustang bowl are plenty fun.
Pizza by the slice at Giampetros, Rasta Pasta and the burrito place next door are good cheap food fare.
Salt Creek, liquid lounge, Fattys, are good bars. If you feel like a good stabbing go to Cecelias (The carpet is red for a reason)

For the life of me, I don't understand why a group of people from Washington would spend the money to come out to Summit County. Are Chrystal, Baker, Bachelor, Whistler, Horse, (the list goes on and on) NOT in close proximity?
