    Talking Going to Breckenridge

I'm relatively new here, but was wondering if anyone had some advice on things to do in Breckonridge (besides ski as much as possible). I'm going with 5 college buddies and we're leaving our families behind. Good restaurants, bars? Any recommendations on runs to hit? I can handle most terrain (except my knees don't allow any hucks) and this is my first time in Colorado. Alpental, WA is my home mountain. Thanks.

yes, While in Breckenridge, drive to keystone or vail....best advice you will get here as far as skiing goes...

As far as other things to do, getting drunk is rather easy in breck...

Breck has some good stuff (Imperial, 6, E) albeit most of it is flat. Partying in Breck won't be an issue though.

I don't mean to hijack, but I'm headed to Breck March 10-17 with some kids from school as well. What is the easiest way to get from the town of Breckenridge to the other mountains without a car?

    Summit Stage bus or hitchhike

The Ski KAB Express (496-4200) will save you many stops and a transfer over Summit Stage to get to Keystone and A-basin, but the times aren't as flexible.

As far as where to ski, I'm sure you can find you're way around.

As far as things to do, I'm sure you can figure that out too, but here are some hints:

    Good Food:
South Ridge Seafood Grill (seafood and American) $$($) Reservations needed, or get to the bar early or late. Good HH, good bar, good scene

Relish (American and fine cuisine) $$$
Cafe Alpine (American and seasonal fine cuisine) $$$
Hearthstone (Hearty American Fine Dining) $$$
Steak and Rib (The name says it, plus some good non-steak options) $$$
Mountain Flying Fish (Sushi) typical price
    Jalapenos (Northern Mexican) $$
    Eric’s (Sports Bar/grill) $
    Giampetros (Pizza/Italian) $
    Fatty's (Pizza/sports bar) $$
Angel's Hollow (Booze and Burritos) $
    Denzemon (Japanese Noodles) $($)
Kenosha Steak House (Steak and BBQ) $$
There are more for sure, but that should keep you pretty busy.

    As far as Drinking:
    Drinking:
    The Historic "Brown"
    Mother Loaded
    Liquid Lounge

    Partying:
    Cecilia’s
    Sherpa and Yeti’s
    Burke and Riley's

Also plenty more, but a good start. Drop me a pm if you want some other specific info.

i think breck is the flattest ski resort I have ever skied. i hope you like lots of flat groomers crowded with cowboys, if so you chose the right resort.

o whatever, don't listen to the haters, while breck is not my favorite summit resort (in fact its prob my least favorite) it IS prob the most fun summit town and the skiing isn't all that bad. Anything off chair 6 or imperial is fun, and horseshoe bowl can be a blast...just avoid skiing on the weekends!

Breck is not squaw but is not flat either. Don't bash Breck because its popular to do so.

Breck is just sooo flat, you really need to hit the gnar at keystone.

And, if you ride the Summit Stage, brush up on your Spanish, so you can understand the insults hurled your way.
ya know, beer is far more than just the world's most perfect breakfast food.

This is disappointing to hear. I did not choose the resort, so I'll have to make due with what I have. Unfortunately, I'm skiing Friday, Sat., Sun. Is Peak 7 worth the hike?

Thanks for the recommendations on places to drink and eat.

We are planning one day at Copper also. Hopefully that will be a little steeper.

Yes, that's one of the few things I enjoy at Breck.

    This thread is stupid.

Look at a trail map. Ski the gnar marked double black. Post further tourist questions at www.epicski.com. Thanks and have fun on your vacation!

I love responses like yours. I was expecting a lot more. I'll keep my eye out for you if you ever make it out to Washington so I can give you "tourist" advice rather than the helpful advice I gave XtrPickels when he asked for advice for places in Seattle. Thanks for the hazing.

    You're mixed up with Vail.

Breck has flat, wide runs....at the bottom.

The T bar has fun stuff, 6 chair is fun and e chair if you like steep and nasty bumps.
Laps on peak 10 through the Burn are fun too.

Don't drink too much beer at the Breck Brewery, the toilet in your condo will thank you.

You have no idea. And TGR is where I can (hopefully) get away from that.

Now I gotta run or I'll be late.
