Anyone ever been to Janet's Cabin? It's one of the 10th MD Huts near Copper Mtn. in CO. I went there last March and had a fucking AMAZING three day trip. Just wondering if anyone else has been there.

I've been and I'm going back in Jan. - I like it up around those parts, also just a great cabin!
Have you skied Sugarloaf Peak? It's a couple-hours skin just above the Cabin and to the right. There's that whole ridge-line up there with great possibilities. Sugarloaf is like a little bump in the ridge-line.
i have never stayed at a 10th mountain hut cabin. But I have slept in a tent near the cabins... Does that help?
cabin is posh
Who me? I've never been anywhere off the magic carpet. Pizzas and french fries are my life.
Yeah, go to telemarktips. Please. They have real information there. And their ears are sympathetic. And they even understand when you tell them your height in CMs and your weight in kilos. That stuff makes my head hurt.
What I want to know is how many people know Mike Zobbe (aka hutguy). That dude is pretty cool - we should turn him into a maggot. Part of the grand ttips exodus. Hehe.
It would be nice to see Hutguy chime in over here, He's a good guy and knows alot about the backcountry.
Secondly. Lose the Fark Owls!! They are not funny there and they are even more not-funny here!
Shera, where are you from in Colorado? Have you ever done Marble Peak?
These forums are sometimes awesome. Great stoke, good info, great deals and swaps.
But, then, there are times where you all look like a bunch of douchebags.
For Example, I know a different Janet's Cabin in New England. Homeboy saying something about where it is geographically doesn't make him less hardcore than you.
SheRa and others:
Your post count has NOTHING to do with how experienced of a skier or mountaineer you are. Rose could be Scott Schmidt (either of them) or he could be your little sister...
Why don't you ask before you all start being dicks?
I am here to reiterate that I have taken a dump in an outhouse.
I once slid into Janet's Box.
So I'm supposed to suck up to him if he's Scott Schmidt? (actually, I would)
Sorry if you don't like how we handle the traffic here. Let me apologize for myself and anyone else that takes the time and trouble (and fun) to do it. I hear everyone on epicski and ttips is really nice, and polite too. They don't even use swear words or anything! Might suit you better. Or hey, speaking of east coast, you could try alpinezone.
I didn't know there was a Janet's in New England. Pics?
Here's a pic of Mike skiing Guyot:

Yup. We celebrated Victor's bachelor fiesta up there. Had the Copper Patrol haul our sled w/ 7 cases of beer (rented from REI), up to the trailhead, even took the lift, and skied down to the trailhead. I hauled it in most of the way and didn't have to deal w/ it on the way out. We passed a group whilst skining up to the hut...like 5 grrls and 2 guys. I'll always remember one of the girrls saying something like "I hope we left you some fresh tracks". Pfffft. They didn't even go up to the pass. After digging a few pits, we nailed Jacque's Ridge, Searle Pass of course, Elk Mtn., "Prospects" and a group even headed out to Jacque Peak (I think that's in-bounds Copper Mtn. now).
The place looked like a ski resort after our group left since it was Springtime and we had 9" fresh one morning (Copper Mtn. was closed when we exited). Something like 15 of us were up there off and on over the 4 days. Topo maps are your friend:

Have to agree with Anon on this one. This thread reminds me why I spend little to no time here and spend most of my time in Sprocket Rockets. I've just never figured out the theory behind trying to make people feel like idiots when they come here with totally relevant threads.
So, SheRa - I guess your goal has been acheived! You've reduced traffic for certain, including people who've been around a while.
Wow, this thread has got some serious legs! Quite entertaining however.
All right... all right! Don't get 'em in a bunch.
But if you're gonna act "core" about it... Was it twenty below with frost on the seat that your ass got froze to?... or maybe it was sweltering hot out, stinky a-n-d there were black widows hoovering near your balls?
Huh? Out with the truth. Cuz this thread needs some core crap in it.;)
