hmmm, snow-wolf looks like a good AT ride!
They went from awesome graphics this year to...

Sanouk

Gotama
pinnoir- no shite. i was so glad when they ditched those ugly wizard exploder graphics for the '03/'04 exploder/gotama look. oh well, guess they've gone back on that. i can see the 03/04 exploder being a collector.
Will there be an explosive next year? From this site it doesn't look like it.
As far as i know, yes.Quote:

But it will be like this year, under the counter.
Lockal importer of völkl skis didnt even know the ski...
When he phoned up völkl, they first denied that (this years ski , the red one) the ski even existed.
04/05 explosiv stays the same but gets a new graphic
is what I heard (but every one seems to keep their mouth shut about it )
maby some thing cool will happen but I doubt it
I also that the cmh will be available to the public in limited numbers
In their catalog, the Exploder is shown as same. No G4. No V-Pro.
The G4 and V-Pro have been combined into one ski, the Karma, I believe. There are other threads in this forum with more info on thisQuote:

04/05 Explosiv's have the same graphics. At least, the pair at SIA was the same graphics as this year.
I like the GFX on the Expressions.

This was a bad-ass ski, not pow friendly, but will handle speeds like a ferrari, couldn't go fast enough.
Also looks tough as all hell.

Yep. Too bad Head beat them to the Easter Island theme by about two years.Quote:

Hey CD77, I'm looking for a hipo rec racer ski to use for our local Thursday nite Bud League... will this work? Or should I just stay with the P60GS??Quote:

Magoo,
Think of the Superspeed as a team stock GS ski with too much sidecut to be FIS legal. As CD77 mentioned, this stick absolutely rips. I think it would work great as city league ski, but you may want to ski both back-to-back and see for yourself.
IG
What IG said. I think it would be good, but it's definitely not very forgiving, depending on your set, whether it's a Nastar style or a true GS set may tip the scales too. If I were to use it for Nastar type stuff I would ski it shorter.
CD77,
What size did you try? I skied the 175 and think there's a pair in my future.
IG
The 75 also. I have been skiing 185-188 in my Gs ski, but could concive of going to the 175 in this one, stable as could be, and nice energy.Quote:

I was impressed by the arm-tnig-a-ma-jiggy from Marker, it might actually work.
i had a dream last night that my gotamas were more destroyed than they currently are. we'll see if i have the power to see into the future in a few weeks.
If I ever had a dream like that I'd know it was true. My skis get beat like crack hoes. Thus leading to my new rule: never pay more than $250 bucks for skis.Quote:

I must have a freak set of Gotamas, because other than the bases I have been unable to destroy these skis. Dragging them kicking and screaming down Heart Chute didn't even break them. :D
Kid we ski with is nicknamed "destructo" not a very big guy but will go for anything, as a result has been known to blow apart quite a few skis. his have held together pretty well, sadly a pair of Tankers, also bought this year are both delaming.Quote:

??? maybe production, bad batches?
Next years looked great, BTW.
OK Volkl fans, what would you do?
I do not want a gigantic quiver and I currently ski a 178 AX4 as my daily driver. Since we've had a "normal" normal snow year in the Wasatch, I'm thinking about replacing the AX4's and team stock slalom skis with a pair of Gotamas and Superspeeds.
Or, do I keep the AX4's and add the Superspeeds and Gotamas?
Just kicking tires . . . . .
Re-phrashing your question.............Quote:

Do I keep my current 5'10' blonde and add twins? One with an evil side that's all fast and crazy, and another with more mellow tendencies, but will crank it up when the timing is right?
It's your life mang.......:D
Problem solved. And, I might add, in a most appealing way.Quote:

From a purely cosmetic point of view, the Volkl I want most is the T Rock. Have you seen it?

This is what I'm not understanding....what is special about the cmh explosive?
Glad I could put it in easily understood terms, it seemed so clear to me.:DQuote:

The T-rock is one of the coolest graphics I've seen, very nice.
Train07 look here,

Sorry, I've sworn a vow of silence . . . . but it's not a Karma with a different topsheet. I wish it were, I'd buy it just for the graphic.Quote:

Well I felt sufficiently jonged as I followed the threads. Need to improve my search function work, eh?Quote:

Thanks Caddy, that was a wealth of info. There are a few days out here where an explosiv would be justified, just not for the last three centuries (at least it feels that way this year). You guys have a whole different game goin on.
To all you eastern guys, there's a big storm comin...
t-rock pic?
Thanks IG and CD77 for the beta. I'll try to get a demo on the Superspeed. Sounds like its a high-powered 6Star? Might be what I need for bud league here in the midwest.... the racestock P60 is a great ski, but overkill for what I'm using it for!
Magoo
Sorry schuss, I wasn't kidding about the vow of silence. But I will tell you the T-Rock is black with - what appears to be - a Fender guitar between the shovel and boot-toe. And a stylized Volkl logo on the tip.Quote:

Beautifully simple.
I wouldn't say the Superspeed has a 6 Star feel, but it's absolutely a high-powered cruiser.Quote:

so it's copying the Made'n AK 80's metal look :D
RAWK!
I'd also chime in to say it doesn't look like the karma, can't remember the dimensions, but i think it was bigger, and a different build-up.
Les Paul for so'......
OK, so it's a Les Paul . . . . at least I didn't say it was a ukulele.Quote:

Dims on the T-Rock and Karma are same same, but the T-Rock comes sans metal.
Damn, I've broken my promise of silence! Now, where did I put that cyanide pill.
just send me a pair of karmas, I'll never tell a soul. :DQuote:

I do some work with Volkl and I was asked not to do any internet Q&A; but, the Russian link that started this thread contains - very nearly - everything I've shared . . . . so far.Quote:
