pinnoir- no shite. i was so glad when they ditched those ugly wizard exploder graphics for the '03/'04 exploder/gotama look. oh well, guess they've gone back on that. i can see the 03/04 exploder being a collector.

Will there be an explosive next year? From this site it doesn't look like it.

Lockal importer of völkl skis didnt even know the ski...
When he phoned up völkl, they first denied that (this years ski , the red one) the ski even existed.

In their catalog, the Exploder is shown as same. No G4. No V-Pro.

The G4 and V-Pro have been combined into one ski, the Karma, I believe. There are other threads in this forum with more info on this

04/05 Explosiv's have the same graphics. At least, the pair at SIA was the same graphics as this year.

    Thumbs up

This was a bad-ass ski, not pow friendly, but will handle speeds like a ferrari, couldn't go fast enough.
Also looks tough as all hell.

Hey CD77, I'm looking for a hipo rec racer ski to use for our local Thursday nite Bud League... will this work? Or should I just stay with the P60GS??

    Magoo,

Think of the Superspeed as a team stock GS ski with too much sidecut to be FIS legal. As CD77 mentioned, this stick absolutely rips. I think it would work great as city league ski, but you may want to ski both back-to-back and see for yourself.

What IG said. I think it would be good, but it's definitely not very forgiving, depending on your set, whether it's a Nastar style or a true GS set may tip the scales too. If I were to use it for Nastar type stuff I would ski it shorter.

    CD77,

What size did you try? I skied the 175 and think there's a pair in my future.

The 75 also. I have been skiing 185-188 in my Gs ski, but could concive of going to the 175 in this one, stable as could be, and nice energy.
I was impressed by the arm-tnig-a-ma-jiggy from Marker, it might actually work.

If I ever had a dream like that I'd know it was true. My skis get beat like crack hoes. Thus leading to my new rule: never pay more than $250 bucks for skis.

I must have a freak set of Gotamas, because other than the bases I have been unable to destroy these skis. Dragging them kicking and screaming down Heart Chute didn't even break them.

Kid we ski with is nicknamed "destructo" not a very big guy but will go for anything, as a result has been known to blow apart quite a few skis. his have held together pretty well, sadly a pair of Tankers, also bought this year are both delaming.

    ??? maybe production, bad batches?

    Next years looked great, BTW.

OK Volkl fans, what would you do?

I do not want a gigantic quiver and I currently ski a 178 AX4 as my daily driver. Since we've had a "normal" normal snow year in the Wasatch, I'm thinking about replacing the AX4's and team stock slalom skis with a pair of Gotamas and Superspeeds.

Or, do I keep the AX4's and add the Superspeeds and Gotamas?

    Just kicking tires . . . . .

    Re-phrashing your question.............

Do I keep my current 5'10' blonde and add twins? One with an evil side that's all fast and crazy, and another with more mellow tendencies, but will crank it up when the timing is right?

    It's your life mang.......

Problem solved. And, I might add, in a most appealing way.

    Thank you

From a purely cosmetic point of view, the Volkl I want most is the T Rock. Have you seen it?
