I don't bitch about snow cover, I don't bitch about Silverton being not steep enough or not cheap enough, I don't bitch about traffic on I-70, I don't bitch about crowds at Vail.
Know why? Cuz none of that shit confronts me! :D
well, i'm scheduled for a heavy round of TPS reports tomorrow... looks like things will be good tho. sunday @ MJ was _sweet_ w/ opening of parsenn, etc.
if i'm in at all, it will be a big MAYBE and then only a super-secret-stealth mission for earlybird train @ MJ...
hmmmmmm.......
That mean you ain't coming to UT?Quote:

Know why? Eldora rocks!
I haven't skied there since I was a passholder in 1997, but Eldora definitely has it's time and place.
I don't know as of right now ? If mu wife has to go out of town for work Sat morning, then yes ! If not, then no.Quote:

I don't know, where ever the fewest tele hippies will be ;)
seriously I'm going to check the report in the morning and follow the snow, do you think you might be in ?
If you weren't a knuckledragger, I'd highly suggest Mines Shoulder on Berthoud. Waist-deep, steep enough to get the adrenaline flowing, and far as I know there's only two sets of tracks down there-- mine and my partners!
He could probably get over there on a board and then ride 6 mile down to the road (that's if it's well packed).Quote:

Seven Mile, and there's no way he'd make it out without postholing for a few hours.
There are prolly zero tracks now. But it got skied a shit pile Sunday. Avi danger is ramping up substanially. Chimney Chute and the Teacups slid Sat. afternoon after you left. I'm not gonna pass judgement on what is safe and what isn't but I wouldn't be a track follower right now.Quote:

It's done all the time dude, hell I've even snowboarded it. If you've got pole you don't even have to unstrap.Quote:

ba-dum-bum
I know that a board can make it out of there, I'm just not so sure a board could make it out there right now with the fresh that's in there. We spent substantial effort laying in tracks, especially in the dead-flat middle section.
There's mos def some funky layers going on up there. Not surprised things are moving. In fact, I was surprised that some of our ski cuts didn't unleash the beast.
been down the creek several times actually, tomorrow though there will be many much more accesible places though, if we get this snow.

steamboat reported 0.25", get your snorkel ready!
FKNA, figures snow comes when I am rolling out. Hopefully this next one lines up for Utah.
i'm in WP tonight (tues) and will be riding here tomorrow. green jacket, tan pants, white lid, cheap-ass lamar board.
edit: dunno what might come later, but it's just barely snowing here right now.
Man did I get my hopes up for nothing.Quote:

No kidding...Fox News made it seem like the winter storm from hell and WP got 0.1"...ugh. Hoping we get a little something something...last weekend was pretty fun.
I'll be up at WP on Sunday...maroon Boeri w/MJ sticker on front, gray pants, blue jacket. Lunch rock around 10am.
I honestly cannot believe this. I'm looking out my window at one of the weakest snowfalls possible.
That storm completely skipped us. looks like KS is getting the goods.
Anyone notice how in the last couple years Colorado front range resorts started reporting tenths of inches? Apparently the TR has fallen out of favor (which is pretty stupid to begin with anyway). Crap, .1" is probably surface hoar. Just wait: Conditions today are hoar and packed hoar...Quote:

It's coming down pretty dang nice in Breck right now. Nice, slow, straight down, big fluffy flakes. Can barely see across main street. This could add up, well it could, really. I hope it adds up.
Even huge snow ain't gonna help Breck. It still sucks.Quote:

woke up in WP this morning after staying up late to finish the work i was doing up there. went to bed dreaming of all those giant flakes, and inches upon inches of snow promised by the talking heads on the tube.
found nothing but a dusting on my truck. took 3 dust-on-crust runs at MJ with flat light and called it a day. really, really dissapointing. it was snowing when i left, but it seems hard to believe they'll get anything close to the predictions.
From CAIC yesterday for the northern mountains:Quote:
