Who's in? 42 days - tentatively scheduled to open on November 9th. Chair 9 will be a high speed sixer this year too.
Remember that 2' pow opening day a few years back?
Ullr, hear our prayers. :FIREdevil

Opener--I'm there...riding on whatever coverage we have--good or bad, camping somewhere with the dog, drinking too much, hitting the tubs, and shooting the shit...but I am always there for the weekend, just lurking, waiting for a storm, waiting for a reason to start using my sick days...
peace,
D.
it was blueburd windblown pow on oct 29!
i remember cuz i broke my nose that day and got a free lift ticket voucher and a post card from Dave McCoy.
The chair 9 upgrade won't happen till 07/08. They're starting the construction this year in case we get another season like last and ski till july.
You can count me in.
Depending on work, I might be working 7/12's until December
Salary sucks.
Highly probable Mrs. Comish and I are in. I may have a work function in Vegas that weekend so have to see, but otherwise I don't see why not.
Great - chair 9 will be a sixer. What's next, a gondola to the top of Wazoo? So much for those long-lasting freshies on the tail. Seriously, does it really need to be a sixer? I would think a quad would be waaayyy more than enough.
Regarding opening day. I don't ski unless there's 2 feet of blower.:fm:
It looks like the usual suspects will be out for the Opening.
I'll likely be there if that crappy ass little rt 359 from hawthorne is plowed.
Count me in for yelling for some change in the pre-8:30 lineup at Chair 1.
O boy the fun of it. Count me in for two runs and a beer!
I hate the first few days of a snowmaking opener... Pray for snow!

not if all these dorks above are gonna be there.
you too adam.
I'll show up just to see that shit ^^
Don't really know you that well, but the little bit I do know leads me to beleive that gebbster+bull horn = either facking good times or an amusing beat down. :D
I plan to be there on Friday the 10th, as I already have that day off. Perhaps I'll see some maggots who stick around for more than one day.
damn lines.....
i'll be there but i might just hike.
split gas from O.C.?

See you in December
Didnt mammoth open up in October last year? That is sick, especially for California to be open earlier than anywhere in Canada. You guys sure get the snow. Has last year's stuff even melted yet?
my first reaction = noooooooooo!!!!!!
next reaction = 07/08 is better than 06/08Quote:

that chair needs to stay a slow double. Perfect to burn one and admire tracks you just laid down on the 'tail. :FIREdevil
Is that a Yan high speed quad I see? Aren't those things known to be dangerous? What are they still doing with them. Whistler and Louise have already gotten rid of all theirs.
that was likely on a weekend..( that huge crowd) opening day itself is a thursday.. It was very quiet 2 years ago when i was there (on opening thurs). I shud be there this year for thurs and fri.
Its a DoppelYan, Chair 1 and Chair 16 are hybrids, Yan Terminals and towers with Doppelmayr, Grips, Sheaves, Bullwheels etc. Rather interesting pieces of machinery that the Lift Electricians really love. The main problem with the Yan detachables was the grips, they used an elastomer instead of a metal spring of some sort...and when cold those silly elastomers didn't work.
Sorry Mr Wave that was 10:30 am on opening day, last year... Scary huh?
The Mt needs to stop making such a big deal out of the opener. They also need to get rid of the race camps the first 4 days of the season.
We will be doing laps daily starting on 11/14/2006
See all you mid week kooks then. :)
Hey and 2 years ago we opened in October... and it was not a snowmaking opener!
I'll be keeping an eye on conditions.
