The Mammoth mountain opeining day mini-mega-mini thread

Who's in? 42 days - tentatively scheduled to open on November 9th. Chair 9 will be a high speed sixer this year too.

Remember that 2' pow opening day a few years back?

    Ullr, hear our prayers.

Opener--I'm there...riding on whatever coverage we have--good or bad, camping somewhere with the dog, drinking too much, hitting the tubs, and shooting the shit...but I am always there for the weekend, just lurking, waiting for a storm, waiting for a reason to start using my sick days...

    peace,
    D.

The chair 9 upgrade won't happen till 07/08. They're starting the construction this year in case we get another season like last and ski till july.

Concrete poured, that's all. No new chair, yet.

Um, I'm not clear on the concept. They close that side of the mountain down by mid/late April every year anyway, regardless of how much later the gondy runs. Did they push back construction because there was too much snow to deal with last spring?

Depending on work, I might be working 7/12's until December

    Salary sucks.
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Highly probable Mrs. Comish and I are in. I may have a work function in Vegas that weekend so have to see, but otherwise I don't see why not.

Great - chair 9 will be a sixer. What's next, a gondola to the top of Wazoo? So much for those long-lasting freshies on the tail. Seriously, does it really need to be a sixer? I would think a quad would be waaayyy more than enough.

Regarding opening day. I don't ski unless there's 2 feet of blower.

The article states that it'll be a quad, not a sixer. It also states that they've started work on some of the towers.

Don't really know you that well, but the little bit I do know leads me to beleive that gebbster+bull horn = either facking good times or an amusing beat down.

I plan to be there on Friday the 10th, as I already have that day off. Perhaps I'll see some maggots who stick around for more than one day.
