Tech talk, Biaatches!!
This Nerdly Carpenter thread is unworthy of the Padded Room!
Vin - no waffles on the head of that girly little Estwing. You gotta have the big Estwing with the waffle head to be a real man.

Who you calling a pussy with a 16oz women's hammer? I run a 32oz Craftsman for concrete forming and general beating on stuff. It's just like an Estwing but once the checkering in done, Sears will give you a new one. For framing, 27oz Vaughn is the shit. Pound nails for a summer straight and tell me how much the tendonitis in your elbow loves that Estwing [/hammer nerd]Quote:

Estwing hammers are also good for breaking into your own truck.Quote:

foggy is right. most people who use hammers for actually nailing all day dont use estwings anymore. too much vibrations and a bad case of tendonitis can eventually be crippling.
wood is good baby.
estwings break too, and when they do, you need a whole new hammer, not just a 4$ wooden handle.
i have an estwing i use for finish stuff (in reality i use senco brad and finish guns)
and i have a death stick i use for framing (in reality i use a hitatchi full head framing gun, the hammer is usually just used to hit the studs inbetween the plates, and demo, and breaking into foggys truck) [/carpenter geek]

When contractors bid a few cents a mile for maintenance it is not uncommon for silt fence to fail in critical areas.Quote:

Yep, when rough framing, hammers are for when you fuck up. I used to work on a 2man crew where I was the cut man. The other guy didn't even but his hammer in his bags. That guy taught me what speed framing is all about.
Teds Hammers out of California makes some sweet nail-drivers. Will try & post pic.
Oh god... terrible flashbacks of the fat bald inspectors in white hardhats :)Quote:

While you are recovering, check this out - http://www.video-c.co.uk/microshow.a...eType=ADSLprog
"Billy Whompum" Recessed waffle pattern for less Pecker Tracks and a magnetic nail slit at the top for those above the head nail sets. Douglas makes some sweet framers too.
If you can drop the bucks, nothing beats Stilettos. 16oz stiletto hits like a 24 and swings like a 12. Drive big 12 inch galvi's all day...

When it comes to banging nothing beats a speed wrench!
and for the geologists in the crowd
I get all of my abandoned warehouses there. And it's so convenient to the hammock district. [/simpsons nerd]Quote:

Snap-On, shot loaded!
I stand by my intial statements of estwing being superior. They are a work of art. That titanium thing is just ugly. And the 16 oz hammer although light in comparison to many other hammers more than makes up for it in it versatility.
Basically MY HAMMER CAN CRUSH YOUR HAMMER!!!!! BIG BLUE INFERIOR HAMMER CRUSHER
I'm with Vinman. Plus, you ever use one of their little hatchets? Razor sharp. Great for chopping kindling, pruning, or throwing at someone's skull who proclaims their hammer superior to the Estwing. :D

Sure big blue can smash shit but can it slice a cucumber? This model slices dices as well as smashing capabilities. The razor is removable wich can be handy if the forman shoes up w/ an 8 ball
Anybody who claims a 16 oz. hammer will crush anything -- even if it's an Estwing -- is still a fucking pussy in my book, and shouldn't be claiming much at all. Do you do anything with it other than hang up pictures of your mom?
dude, a 16 oz hammer probably weighs as much as one of vin's arms do.
