Who you calling a pussy with a 16oz women's hammer? I run a 32oz Craftsman for concrete forming and general beating on stuff. It's just like an Estwing but once the checkering in done, Sears will give you a new one. For framing, 27oz Vaughn is the shit. Pound nails for a summer straight and tell me how much the tendonitis in your elbow loves that Estwing [/hammer nerd]

my summer consisted of lugging a 10 lb sledge and a bucket of 12inch wooden stakes through 3 foot deep muck, i had to pound a few hundred of these stakes through burlap netting allllll day long (12 hour work days)... this was all so we could widen the highway and the fish could still remain happy in their muck (i mean stream)...

foggy is right. most people who use hammers for actually nailing all day dont use estwings anymore. too much vibrations and a bad case of tendonitis can eventually be crippling.

estwings break too, and when they do, you need a whole new hammer, not just a 4$ wooden handle.

i have an estwing i use for finish stuff (in reality i use senco brad and finish guns)

and i have a death stick i use for framing (in reality i use a hitatchi full head framing gun, the hammer is usually just used to hit the studs inbetween the plates, and demo, and breaking into foggys truck) [/carpenter geek]

Or the State's environmental laws. I'm one of the guys who periodically makes sure the silt fence or any other erosion control devices are placed correctly and more importantly properly maintained. When contractors bid a few cents a mile for maintenance it is not uncommon for silt fence to fail in critical areas.

Yep, when rough framing, hammers are for when you fuck up. I used to work on a 2man crew where I was the cut man. The other guy didn't even but his hammer in his bags. That guy taught me what speed framing is all about.
