its official, the universe is going to implode.
GO SOX!
Or the universe will play the ultimate joke on us and the cards will come back and win it. No one can say it hasnt happened before..... :D
actually i was kind of hoping for a loss tonight.
you're right, it would be such typical boston luck to be the first team to come back from 3 games to none then turn around and be the second team to blow it.
but not this time baby.
;)
Jesus, you morons need to shut the hell up, have you NO idea of what we're dealing with here?
Where the fuck are my rosary beads?
What this man said! My Sis & her BF just drove in from Boston tonite & we watched the game. Sweet! We don't allow talk like that around here! I do, however, disagree with Sis on 1 point. The "curse" is not broken until we WIN it. She thinks it was broken when we beat the Yankees...But if memory serves, the "curse" is all about the SERIES, is it not?Quote:

For the good of mankind, please delete this whole thread now.
so today in physics we tried to figure out what the affects on us will be when the sox win with the world stopping spinning and the total destruction of the force of gravity, we were hypothesising on if we would just fly into outer space or if the earths crust would break apart and a lot of rock would be simotaniously thrown into outer space.
Fez is that a midgit? I think I missed something
i think it's gonna happen.
super stoked (and super drunk) for the massholes right now, but that should change in a coupla hours.
man, i am super good at typingg.
i can't stop screaming POOOOOOOOOOO HOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at the top of my lungs and laughing.
hahahahhahahahah. poooo holes. hahaha
I'd like to point out that there will be a lunar eclipse tonight.
pooo holes. bwa!
I'm with Iceman. you all need to shut up!!! you can only talk about games that have already happened, not what MIGHT happen in the next game.
Manny sorta made up for his errors the other night eh? that throw to Vtek to tag Walker was all steezy. :fmicon:
Pedro looks funny swinging a bat.
I forget what show it was, but when I got home from the bar some sports dode was heard to remark about Suppan "worst base-running in the history of the game" kinda harsh but it made me laugh.
pooo holes
why the hell were the sox trying to get rid of manny? all the guy does is mash
oh man i just got that.Quote:

that's actually pretty funny.
Crazy - can't believe it might happen. And I have book club tonight-grrrrrrrrr. I'm pretty sure I can get the 10 chicks in my book club to drop the books and at least watch the last couple of innings. I'm not the only former new englander in the group.
go sox!
my wife has been giggling about that all week.Quote:

CUBS IN '05.
poo holes.
So many happy songs floating around in my head. I honestly dont know what to do with myself - i haven't been able to focus on school, work, or anything else. I thought I was ready, but now god...
Thanks Petey for bringing it one more time. Cuando la victoria venga, puede sentir!
Now bring it home boys!
Also from another board:
Instead of only trying to combat a riot, the BPD should first do everything they can to SUBVERT it.
#1 - Have a PA system or network of PA systems around the Kenmore Square around. After the win, play a rotation of Sox and sports anthems all night long. It's better to have tens of thousands of people singing in unison than a free-form circus of vandals and spectators.
#2 - Hand out bottled water. A) Water will help dilute the drunkenness. B) People who take the water will have PLASTIC bottles in their hands. C) Instruct the people with water to extinguish any small fire they see being set.
If you like those ideas, email them to city hall and the BPD.
pooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooles
There is no shame in losing to the Red Sox: Boston is a deserving town and you certainly have a deserving team.
BUT, being embarrassed and not playing the caliber of baseball they are capable of is just pathetic. Suppan's base-running was attrocious.
Anyway, it was fun hanging with Gonzo - there are a ton of Bostonians in town for the series - my seats are a "beer-cup throw" away from the Boston player wives' seats - they were cheering pretty hard. Man, we haven't played with a lead early in any game for an eternity.
I could go on, but what's the point.
"Having been the first team in postseason history to win a seven-game series after being down, 0-3, the Red Sox couldn't now become the second team to blow a 3-0 lead.
Could they?
The old Red Sox might have. Not this team. This team is different.
The old Red Sox are history. The 2004 Red Sox are making history. "
courtesy of the Pro Jo's Jim Donaldson.
Seriously, the Red Sox make a ton of mistakes, nothing comes back to haunt them, and the Cards make one mistake and it hurts them huge, it's unprecendented, like nothing I've seen in the 30 years I've been following the Sox, it's the Bizzaro World.
Poor Karl Stall :FIREdevil NOT

i cant stop. why is it so funny?
poo holes. bwahaha poo holes
last night was a blast. full Game 3 TR coming with pics. never seen so much camo at a baseball game in my life.
heading back to boston tonight to be there for the fun. awww yeah! unjinx. but man St. Louis is totally deflated. you could hear sox fans screaming from several sections over. we would stand up and cheer when good shit happened and wave at eachother. hilarious. i think about 2 St. Louis fans understood what the shocker was. every sox fan loved it.
as i said last night to carl - "best baseball fans" = most polite?
unjinx unjinx unjinx
to paraphrase bill simmons' note to cards fans:Quote:

How did Karl double post with two posts in between?
I feel like this is something out of King Lear, where the natural elements start acting all funky and out of sorts.
It still hasn't sunk in for me--I saw on the ESPN ticker this morning 'Red Sox lead WS 3-0', and wished they could have just kept running it over and over until I could truly understand it.
Pedro kicked ass, and this team is amazing. If D Lowe has his stuff together tonight...
and poo holes keeps his head inside his poo hole.......
Did anybody see the Daily Show ALCS coverage? Hilarious...Jon Stewart interviewing Rob Cordry after the Sox won game seven:
JS: What's it like in Boston?
RC: The mood, Jon, is one of cautious optimism.
JS: But...you guys won!
RC: DON'T JINX IT, MAN!
That's how I'm feeling right now.
Anyone goin in town tonight? I'm thinking the Baseball Tavern on Boylston http://www.arcticchat.com/forums/htm.../sign_beer.gifhttp://www.arcticchat.com/forums/htm...moticon143.gif
When Pedro has 3 lousy innings to start & STL can't make a scratch on the board, they're in SERIOUS trouble.Quote:

Will we witness Boston set yet another record to be the 18th team in history to sweep the Series?
will anyone roll in to poo holes?Quote:
