What this man said! My Sis & her BF just drove in from Boston tonite & we watched the game. Sweet! We don't allow talk like that around here! I do, however, disagree with Sis on 1 point. The "curse" is not broken until we WIN it. She thinks it was broken when we beat the Yankees...But if memory serves, the "curse" is all about the SERIES, is it not?

so today in physics we tried to figure out what the affects on us will be when the sox win with the world stopping spinning and the total destruction of the force of gravity, we were hypothesising on if we would just fly into outer space or if the earths crust would break apart and a lot of rock would be simotaniously thrown into outer space.

Crazy - can't believe it might happen. And I have book club tonight-grrrrrrrrr. I'm pretty sure I can get the 10 chicks in my book club to drop the books and at least watch the last couple of innings. I'm not the only former new englander in the group.

Instead of only trying to combat a riot, the BPD should first do everything they can to SUBVERT it.

#1 - Have a PA system or network of PA systems around the Kenmore Square around. After the win, play a rotation of Sox and sports anthems all night long. It's better to have tens of thousands of people singing in unison than a free-form circus of vandals and spectators.

#2 - Hand out bottled water. A) Water will help dilute the drunkenness. B) People who take the water will have PLASTIC bottles in their hands. C) Instruct the people with water to extinguish any small fire they see being set.

If you like those ideas, email them to city hall and the BPD.

There is no shame in losing to the Red Sox: Boston is a deserving town and you certainly have a deserving team.


BUT, being embarrassed and not playing the caliber of baseball they are capable of is just pathetic. Suppan's base-running was attrocious.

Anyway, it was fun hanging with Gonzo - there are a ton of Bostonians in town for the series - my seats are a "beer-cup throw" away from the Boston player wives' seats - they were cheering pretty hard. Man, we haven't played with a lead early in any game for an eternity.

I could go on, but what's the point.
