I'm gettin' out thursday. :D
Yeah! Just hiked around the North Side of Hood yesterday, up the Cooper Spur Ridge for a while. Beautiful, but no new snow. ALl that is changing!!
They're calling for dropping snow levels tonight, I'm not surprised you didn't see any fresh.
i'll wait til it's sunny or we got some big accumulation down low. fuck....i'm gonna check noaa now.
i sawr fresh on the tops of the cascades this morning on my way into kirkland. very very refreshing to see some new white up there.
weather outlook is nice for the week. showers and lowish temps. colder would be better but ya know, it's october. i ain't complainin none.

chinook
The new NOAA site I linked in the snow conditions board is all over this...
Chinnok might be good, or north cascades?
edit: Crap that's the wrong map. I'm a dumbass. Basically, if you get the last few days loops, it looks like most of the fresh ended out in the northern half of Washington.
definitely looking hard at chinook, but baker could have gotten pounded for all we know.
If the weather is good I'd be up for chinook or northcascades this sunday.
The road to Artist Point is supposed to be closed now so they must have gotten something up there.Quote:

Room for 2 + gear in my golf cart.
sunrise road is closed. two weeks ago you could still get to the white river campground, but the sunrise road was gated off.
anyone know what it's like up at chinook now?
Please post when you are heading up or a rendevous point if you are going Sunday
This gives an idea of temps, etc.Quote:

i don't know about this 4 inches of snow thing. kinda worried. 2 more days to dump. please dump!
Why does everybody have such a hardon for Chinook? The glaciers are where it's at.
I agree with Sphinx . There just isn't enough snow to make a skiable base unless you are on a glacier. It is supposed to be cold though so it is just a matter of some snow falling. Hopefully tonights system will help
yeah. let's go climb up in the clouds and get totally lost on innerglacier cuz everybody's got a hard on for chinook. where the fuck do you think i've gone skiing the last two months.

Well, thar' ya go, ZBo! We'll see what happens now...
c'mon baby gimme some dumpbage!
but going up to muir sounds kinda sketch with the snow falling and lack of trees for sight. skiing by braille doesn't interest me.
Damn I love to read these words. And it's technically not a forecast, so no jinx effect.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT. HEAVY SNOW COMBINED WITH GUSTY WINDS WILL RESULT IN
HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. THOSE WITH TRAVEL PLANS ACROSS THE
MOUNTAINS SHOULD PLAN FOR WINTER WEATHER DRIVING CONDITIONS.
