Fall hike in Cache Valley- PICS

Stoy and I left early (4:40am) to traverse the Wellsvilles. Lots of lines were scoped for winter, lots of raptors, and beautiful fall colors. Where were you at sunrise Saturday?

Nice pics! I could look this up, but where are the Wellsvilles? Looks great.

The stillness of the half-hour before sunrise is my favorite-- when it's a touch chilly and there's just a hint of breeze, but everything else in the world seems to be asleep or just gone. I love it.

The Wells form the west side of Cache Valley. Steepest mountains in NA, according to the USGS (look it up cause I know you don't believe me). Great views, raptor bird migratory route. But the skiing sucks there so don't come and check it out. :p

Heh. We all know that Utah doesn't have steeps, so don't try that with me.

BTW, Stoy broke out the beers at lunch, not dawn. :p

Reminds me of a few sunrises I got to experience atop Timpanogos. An incredibly peaceful time of the day.

Jeebus I love the wellsvilles. I live on the east bench behind USU so I have been taking Sunset pics of them quite a bit latley, Maybe Ill get Un-lazy and post them sometime. Loving Seeing my home town on the board. Thanks Twoplanker

Yeah Ive lived here my whole life and am now going to UsU. Laid low on the board for a long time, Lurking and learning so I Didn't come off like the other teenagers here. Im the goofy looking kid that works in the ski shop at the beav. Give me a holler if your up there somtime.

Cool. Ok, maybe you're the dude I'm looking for. I want a super competent tech to mount a pair of Freerides to my Bro Models. I'm not sure I trust anyone I know of in town to do it. Can you guys do that?

Id trust my boss to do it but we dont get up and running till the season starts. I personally havent done any AT bidings. If you need it done before then take them to al's they are the most competent shop in town, Just request that Tim does the job. Hope that helps.

I've been clunking around in Alpine Trekkers. They've been a lot of fun but they're really inefficient and akward. I only want to mount my Bros once, so I might as well do it right. Fritschi Freerides seem like the way to go for me. I'm still enamored of the alpine style, so I'll still be lugging around my heavy boots. Maybe some day I'll sack up and free my heel. :D

I was contemplating buying the bros, thinking I would be the only Locacher on them, guess that philosophy is out the window.

I have a Beav pass too, so plan on seeing me up there on the weekend, as I can't afford to hit Basin much, even though I live now in Ogden area.

Summary: Bought pass end of last year, got some days and then life changed completely and moved, baby, commuting back up to Logan everyday.....

So I will be riding up there with Twoplanker as well. Looking forward to turns.

BTW, I am normally on a snowboard, but have some skis coming this year from a Stu Gotz for the price of shipping (Chubbs), 810TI's given from Lumpy, won PM Gear poles at Hood and 2P gave me his extra boots I wore last year once.

Either way, turns will be made. :D
