Fall hike in Cache Valley- PICS

Stoy and I left early (4:40am) to traverse the Wellsvilles. Lots of lines were scoped for winter, lots of raptors, and beautiful fall colors. Where were you at sunrise Saturday?

Here we go. Now where's the sun?

Nice pics! I could look this up, but where are the Wellsvilles? Looks great.

The stillness of the half-hour before sunrise is my favorite-- when it's a touch chilly and there's just a hint of breeze, but everything else in the world seems to be asleep or just gone. I love it.
    It's idomatic, beatch.

The Wells form the west side of Cache Valley. Steepest mountains in NA, according to the USGS (look it up cause I know you don't believe me). Great views, raptor bird migratory route. But the skiing sucks there so don't come and check it out.

Heh. We all know that Utah doesn't have steeps, so don't try that with me.

    Sweet pics Twoplanker.

Reminds me of a few sunrises I got to experience atop Timpanogos. An incredibly peaceful time of the day.

    Damn I miss Utah.

    Thanks for the stoke.

I'll be driving through that valley friday after 630 long miles behind the wheel of a Penske truck. Then over the pass to the new homestead.

See you LoCache maggots this winter. Aghhhhhhhhh, this winter is going to be one of the best.

We we talking about you, your sled, and the contraption that it pulls on that hike. Can't wait to welcome you to the valley. PM me when you arrive and we'll have you over for beers and bbq.

Sure. I've got some nice ones from skiing the Wells this past spring. I'll see if I can dig them up.

    Thumbs up

Very nice pics. I heard all about the hike, sounded like a nice Sat am adventure. So dudes actually camp up there for months watching the raptors, huh? Passions, what life is all about.

Going camo?? He, that hoodie blends right in.

And when you all have "beers and bbq" welcome for Track, 2P, could you please let me know, I would love to be part of the welcoming committee!

BTW, Who is the short haired guy in the red backpack? Hair too long for 2P but too short for Stoy. You cut the locks Stoy?

Cool. Ok, maybe you're the dude I'm looking for. I want a super competent tech to mount a pair of Freerides to my Bro Models. I'm not sure I trust anyone I know of in town to do it. Can you guys do that?

Id trust my boss to do it but we dont get up and running till the season starts. I personally havent done any AT bidings. If you need it done before then take them to al's they are the most competent shop in town, Just request that Tim does the job. Hope that helps.

I've been clunking around in Alpine Trekkers. They've been a lot of fun but they're really inefficient and akward. I only want to mount my Bros once, so I might as well do it right. Fritschi Freerides seem like the way to go for me. I'm still enamored of the alpine style, so I'll still be lugging around my heavy boots. Maybe some day I'll sack up and free my heel.

I was contemplating buying the bros, thinking I would be the only Locacher on them, guess that philosophy is out the window.

I'm one of the owners of the company, so I'll be on them for sure. Then again, very soon everyone will be skiing on our skis, right?
