Cool! nice to see some action shots of my other brother from another mother. Looks real nice up there.
That's an old ass boarder to be getting lost. Good thing he survived the night.

Last winter, I was frequently on the end of a row that was longer than the next one (weird parking lot shape), which meant I could pull straight across the small snowbank and downhill if no one had snuck a car in sideways. I missed it when they started coning the end of the shorter row and the cone was close enough to my front bumper that I couldn't see it before pulling away.
Felt really sheepish yanking it out and putting it back after hearing it drag.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow. We seem to be in a "base present" situation, so if the larger end of the forecast comes through, it should be game on. The big question in my mind is how much of a junk show will the lines be...

getting lost at K is so 20-something jerseyite, in an 'all routes take you to a road so let's do it' crossed with 'getting lost is a cool adventure' sort of way.

I didnt see this mentioned, reminder that Braintree Mountain Forest is not open yet. On the possitive side, trail work on Saturday was a blast and kept us plenty warm. Here's RASTA's update:

Below zero temps yesterday didn’t stop a hardy group of local Braintree/Randolph volunteers, & RASTA board members from tackling this important trail reroute in the Braintree Mtn Forest. We are very grateful for the local community support that rallied, showing up with snowshoes, chainsaws & loppers in hand ready to GO. We’re happy to say the reroute has been cut and cleared.
.
Trail access to the RASTA backcountry zones at BMF WILL REMAIN CLOSED until all signage is in place, map updated to reflect on the ground changes, and landowners have checked off on it. Please keep an eye out for updates to come.
.
This is also a great opportunity to talk about driving to BMF on Riford Brook Rd. It is a neighborhood lined Vermont backroad. The speed limit is 30, not 40 or 47. There are active farms, children, elderly, families, that all call Riford Bk rd home. We know you are beyond stoked with the tunes cranked, coffee in ya, likely in a rush to get there....BUT trail users speeding through these neighborhoods to the BMF reflect negatively on RASTA, the work we do, our reputation and possibly jeopardizing the future of the BMF. We do receive complaints about it and you’ll see a few new signs on the road to remind all the trail users to please DRIVE SLOW, and be respectful of the neighbors.
.
Thank you kindly & continue the message of responsibility, and awareness...and have fun! ❤️
RASTA
.
A big shoutout to our friends at @benthillbrewery , @upperpassbeer , and @firstbranchcoffee for donating warm and cold bev’s that helped on both ends of a cold day!

PLEASE READ! Braintree MTN Forest RASTA backcountry trails are temporarily closed.
. It has come to our attention that this past Sunday a serious altercation took place between an abutting landowner and two skiers that ended up leaving the RASTA trail and skiing onto private property. We are still collecting information, assessing the situation, and waiting for the VT State Police report before commenting any further. We will be sharing the police report once it comes available. .
Due to this situation, we have decided to temporarily close the RASTA backcountry trails at Braintree MTN Forest, effective immediately. This is meant to protect public safety and to give RASTA time to flag and cut an alternative route to the long-standing trail. RASTA Trail Director Zac Freeman @zac_freevt is in contact with the landowner, who is aware of, and grateful for our efforts to reroute the trail away from their property. This effort and action is out of respect to their privacy and in the interest of being the best trail stewards we can be. We are hopeful this rerouted trail can be cut and signed quickly and we are able to reopen the BMF for everyone's enjoyment as quickly as possible. A reopening time frame is not clear as of today, but we will update everyone via our social media channels as soon as possible.
. Situations like this offer ALL OF US a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our actions, possible impacts on others, and hopefully the consciousness to grow and learn from moving forward. As we all collectively enhance our outdoor recreation opportunities, more and more people are seeking adventure on trails. Trail use numbers are up across the board! As a trail organization, we need to work closely with landowners to avoid conflict. As a trail user, it is our responsibility to better respect private property and know exactly where we are, and where we are going. The navigation skills required to successfully travel mountainous terrain in sensitive areas is crucial to maintain long-term access for all. .
This is an unfortunate situation, but we are actively addressing it and creating a solution that will be better for all involved. Thank you kindly, RASTA ❤️
