Not free, you just didn't have to pay for it out of pocket. We are all paying for it (not that that is a bad thing.)

I wanted your mother; never bargained for you!! :P
Maybe I’m going cross-eyed, but I don’t see schools mentioned in the phasing descriptions.
Our deputy county superintendent of schools hosted a zoom call yesterday to discuss what they are currently considering for reopening. He made a point to indicate that the “hybrid” model would result is a very large public gathering (approx 2000) at one time at the bigger HS campus.
I can't tell the strap arrangement--do the top and bottom ties go through one cord lock? The key to keeping the mask over the nose is the top tie going high on the back of the head. BTW--it's easier to tie the bows if you're wearing an OR cap of some kind, otherwise it's hard to keep your hair out of the bow. (If you have hair. Not a problem for me.)
Nomination for dumbfuck of the year award right here.
I'm guessing you can find a dozen "news" articles that hit all the major outlets with LESS supporting evidence than Montucky's neighbor in less time than it takes to try to defend your laughable pretense of accuracy.
I'll start with a Wapo headline. Washington Post: Russian Hackers Penetrated U.S. Electricity Grid Through a Utility in Vermont, U.S. Officials Say
100% false and no substantiating evidence. Who wants to go next.
There is no top. There is a loop that allows it the rest over your ears then down to the nape of your neck which is where the cord lock is. Trust me, way better than tying behind your head.
This mask isn't dependant on where your ears sit on your head because these aren't earloops just guides.

I purchased a bunch of them and gave them out to friends - fits a variety of faces from adult to teen, male to female.
Another mask I like a lot is Stark's but it is strictly an earloop mask and required some adjusting for me because of my small pate (I added cord locks to the earloops. The company now sells cordlocks if you want to purchase them). It is a triple layer mask with antimicrobial properties plus it has a nice cloth nose piece that helps prevent fogging (you can fold it up or down depending on what you like). I will note that one friend with an above average proboscis had some issues with the mask. :D

Both masks have center seams which I think really help with the ability to talk and diminish that sense of not being able to breath that you get with straight across non-seamed masks.
This is the one that fit my mom - didn't go with the Mambe because I felt the cordlock, having to reach around behind her head, wasn't going to work for her. This mask is wonderful, fits her well and is soft. You have a choice of material for the earloops, I got her the lycra earloops - they are very easy on the ears.

These are people who've spent hours talking about whether the spike protein will be a good enough antigen, or a vaccine should have more proteins.
Other than targeted sarcasm, I try to maintain an even keel in this thread.
But TBS, your report is the stuff that breaks my heart. Sure, since your GD is young, I'm gonna bet odds are in her favor. But the fact that she requires hospitalization in the first place worries me. Hoping she recovers fully.
Every time I step into our COVID19 ward, I think about how fucking avoidable so much of what I see around me is.
When I'm there, it takes some self-control to not boil over in anger at our incompetent leadership and the foolish, willfully ignorant narrative that fuels it, especially in this instance, where so much needless death and suffering is occurring. It angers me that so much of it is due to our homegrown Id-iocracy, but also aided and abetted by foreign agents who wish us harm. It pisses me off how so many people, including several posting on this forum, are so duped by their blindered partisanship that they continue to promulgate the failed FUD arguments that only prolong and worsen our national agony.
My misanthropy is trending towards glademaster's.
Game show host retweeted by Trump deletes his account after announcing his son has coronavirus
TheHill.com
Former game show host Chuck Woolery announced Wednesday his son has tested positive for COVID-19, just days after Woolery accused medical professionals and Democrats of lying about the virus in an effort to hurt the economy and President Trump's reelection chances.
Woolery, who hosted several popular game shows including "Love Connection" and “Wheel of Fortune” and who is a staunch supporter of the president's, has since deleted his Twitter account following the announcement about his son.
“To further clarify and add perspective, Covid-19 is real and it is here. My son tested positive for the virus, and I feel for of those suffering and especially for those who have lost loved ones," Woolery tweeted before his account disappeared...

Stay the course Tri-U. You're one of the good guys.
sending positive vibes to TBS’s grand daughter.
I don’t care what the politicians say about kids not having a rough time with covid -having a toddler be hospitalized anytime is a scary fucking situation for all involved - including the toddler.
Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery.
Really sorry to hear about your granddaughter,TBS. Hope she makes a quick recovery and is home soon!
Vibes TBS .... pulling for you guys
TBS, I’m hoping hard for the best possible outcome for your granddaughter.

Achieving universal adoption of public health recommendations is hard. In the United States today, not everyone wears a seatbelt when driving; not everyone wears a helmet when bicycling; not everyone uses a condom when having sex with a new partner; and not every child receives recommended vaccines.
“We can never expect 100 percent risk reduction,” said Julia Marcus, an epidemiologist and assistant professor at Harvard Medical School who has studied H.I.V. prevention. “It’s not realistic.”
Still, some countries are clearly getting closer to universal mask use than the United States, suggesting there is room for improvement.
Compliance on all those other public health measures has risen through a combination of laws and public health advocacy. The evidence for laws on masks is limited, but it seems to support their effectiveness. A study of Mexican taxi and bus drivers during the H1N1 flu outbreak in 2009 showed that stronger rules increased compliance. A recent study in Health Affairs that looked at U.S. states found that state mask requirements appeared to have reduced virus transmission, though the researchers did not measure mask use directly.
Other public health campaigns also show that mandates may work. Laws are credited with increasing the use of seatbelts and the vaccination rates among school-aged children. Laws have been shown to be among the most effective ways to decrease indoor smoking, a behavior that, like declining to use a mask, can increase health risks to people nearby.

What are the chances of even running into 5 people there?
The mandatory mask at Walmart, Costco, Target, Starbucks, CVS, Kroger, etc. uniformly hits all of small town America in one shot
Fuck that overlord-government for telling me what I can or can’t do, but hey, private corporation telling me what to do? NBD, I submit not because it helps people, but because it helps me buy things
