Here is a simple solution to this whole Salomon Blank conundrum - if you don't like, don't buy it. Salomon isn't here to please the maggot collective they are here to sell skis and have a profitable business. The masses buy a lot more skis than us dirt bags. If you want a more badass ski try a Katana 108, or Wrenegade 110, or ....fill in what ski gives you a boner.

Everyone shits on it, but look a Camry is a fucking phenomenal DD. Yeah, I’d love an E30 M3 in garage, an S2000, maybe throw in an old 80s series. But hell, my Golf Alltrack blows them all out of the water for DD duties with its creature comforts.
So yeah, I think the Blank looks pretty perfect as a PNW DD and I’ll have who knows how many more skis to fuck around on too.

Joking aside I think on the right ski a tight turn radius does help with maneuverability in tight spaces on heavy skis. Otherwise I think it’s just one input to be picky about that makes less of a difference than weight, rocker, taper, construction, and mount point.
WTF is with all the boring, WHITE graphics? Is it diy color in the lines? Do I have to run maxed out DIN so I don't have to get my skis back in July?

A lot of you are also focused on the turn radius number. Look at the length and dimensions of the ski. It's tapered. It's not some super shaped piste carver for the Zermat rental fleet.
But yeah, the Q Lab graphics are sweet. Wish there were more mountain scenes and bright colors the past couple years instead of bland rental gear top sheets.
And woodgrain. That's always neat.

A longer radius is a surfier (and more fun) ski in the pow at slower speeds.
And at high speeds it arcs instead of hooks.

When you're cooking down a groomer making big turns and trying to rail, an 18m radius ski isn't going to feel solid on edge; it's going to feel like the ski is nervous, noisy, and breaking loose at different points along the edge. An appropriate radius ski will be quiet, feel solid along the full length, and carve clean. Just like the 18m ski feels when making tighter turns. It's just physics.Quote:

Looks like another ski which still won't be as good as a rustler 11... Haven't skied it yet but my guess is the biggest issue for 'charging steep faces' will remain whatever is occupying the roughly six feet of space over the ski.
We're talking about it because its actually new in a year when almost nothing else is.

Anxious to be more info on the Kore line as the current iteration has seemed somewhat uninspired throughout...which is my general take on most of Heads skis over the past several years. They do the job but there are always more interesting and effective options

Low radius skis are only fun when going slow. They suck at slarving high speeds.
High radius skis are kinda fun slarving low speeds. They’re awesome at arcing high speeds.
All any designer did with a high taper ski is set the release points closer to my foot. I still have to release it when going slow (low radius) or when going fast (high radius.)
This is why the Renegade, Protest, and Billy Goat are such coveted powder skis.
If you’ve never experienced a long radius powder ski, please do so. The naïveté is palpable.

Haha all this drama on the Sally ski, pretty obvious to see exactly what people are commenting about in that IG video by Josh Daiek posted above. Once he got them up to speed the tips constantly wanted to engage in a smaller turn radius and he had to redirect them ski a larger turn radius.

Reverse tech style binding with pins in the shoe and a rubber dome on the binding to give resistance for cross country technique. 265g per binding. October 2021 release. 229€ list price.
