If you're staying on the west side of the sound you can stay in protected waters almost all the way out to the Gue. I love the sound But nobody needs a captain in Whittier. Valdez is too much of a commute from Anchorage. Good luck getting out Wednesday 6' isn't so bad.

I know about the 5000 but I didn't think all that other shit up there is actually skiable. I will definitely have to get up there next season. Jedi, The summer bike season will lead up to using the tram. Start with Chair 3, then 4 as we chase the snow up the mountain. We have 2 routes from the base of 6 as of right now and have just started working from top of 6 on down to Silvertip this week. Gonna roll way out skiers left through the alpine meadows and then come back to top of 4. Eventual route down waterfall side. Once we get main arteries in we can start with side routes. Most every bench from north face to Max's could have a trail...
DH Biking is like skiing in the summer.

Man I'm gonna try to be down there on Sunday. I hope I can find the goods. Any suggestions for me uptrack and down.
The best push route is up the Tanaka side then up the bowl to top of the Tram then follow the road under 6 to the glacier bowl. As you approach the tram keep looking up and you will see the traverse over to Silver tip and the goat trail etched in the scree under the patrol shack.
Half way through Silvertip there is only marks on the tundra to follow so go slow because there are looming rocks along the 'trail'. You will hook up at the bottom of Silvertip and then pop out on the road...
Cruise to base of 6 around left side of green building (go under tarp if still there) and drop into Bat Cave down to Von's corner. At Von's you can go up into trees to ride tech Gold Spike or stay on Sourdough and ride berms to top of 3 where Big Spruce picks up with berms to bottom.
Have fun, I might be able to make a lap...?

Oh my fucking god that was the most fun I've ever had without snow. I don't want to sound like a queer or nothing but you guys fucking rock. Those trails are Amazing I can't stop grinning even though my wife wants to leave me. I certainly hope the more than sellout crowd will bode well for tram ops next summer or even maybe more this fall that's a wicked tease.
I'm glad you had fun out there! It was a big relief to see 200 people in line by noon. Evidence enough to give me free license to build for the next few years and yes, we will be hitting the lift hard next summer.
