The storm just rolled over Mt Rose something fierce - no precip at my crib in Reno yet but the winds are HOWLING - tough timing with this one since I have to go back to work Tuesday - here's hoping 88 is open tomorrow and the winds die down!!

I just came down the hill from Incline. Raining in Incline!! BUT @ about 6800Ft the Snow starts. Yes, it is 26deg and snowing like hell (White out) @ Mt. Rose. Chain controls are on going up hwy80. We are officialy having a winter storm.
Sierra is more wind-tolerant than many places...not wind-hold resistant, but better than most... and there are superior steep tree lines to be had if you know the mountain.Quote:
