I was a broke college kid that needed a car. Went and looked at one of these. Visions of a shag wagon danced in my head. Thank god the owner couldn't get it started for me to test drive it...
I think there's a reason you'll never see one of these in the wild today.

Standing at the gas pump today a deep throaty burble pulls up behind me Attachment 504541 The body isn't in the greatest shape but mechanically it's a monster. There's just something about an old Caddy motor with a proper flowing exhaust, the sound is just wonderful.

As I quickly yelled, "here's good!" and hopped out (no where near my house) he got back on the gas and out of sight to the sound of those (as you put it) flowing exhaust pipes, and mirrors losing their mounts like a fucking xylophone.

I bet that thing just floats down the road. We whine about our shitty roads but they're silky compared to 60 years ago and this was baby bottom smooth back then. 6mpg is kind of a problem though.
