I dug out the sea otter hat, I'll be in a fur hat with a red freeride systems jacket over a puffy, probably on dynastars if anybody else is braving the cold.
.
baby sea otter?
.
Duh, they’re the softest and most tender.

Sadden to hear about this incident. Stay safe out there, read the forecast and heed the warnings.

Shit. Landon is a casual friend who I've skied with and known for 15 years or so. I met Corey through him. This sucks. I reached out to Landon. I pray he gets through this okay. Good guy.
Schwiz sidecountry yesterday 1/13. In the sun temps were great, def didn’t feel like -20 or even 0F. The pow stayed dry in the sun all day!

Not sure if you all enjoy bike-related adventuring, but there's a fun and low-key monthly publication focused on bike riding and other Northeast Washington-relevant subjects called the Ferry County Cycling Federation: Barstow Dispatch. It used to be in color (and may be in the future) and features a lot of commentary and information on outdoor recreation in NE WA.
See photos for how to sign up to receive it in your mailbox and examples of the included contect.

I'm headed to Jackass in the AM is there any outer areas where I'd need to bring beacon, shovel and probe? I've only been twice and it was kinda low tide both times.
Still low tide in the woods, but if you want to bring it, you won’t look odd.Attachment 483392

I’ll be up tomorrow rolling full kit. Godde’s is the only place that one should really need it. Big days like tomorrow ya never know tho.
If ya see me say hi. Be cool to meet and I’ll show ya around.

Nice! I'll be up there in black and a bright ass red freeride systems jacket neon green helmet. Probably rocking old LP105s
Along with all the local kids. This snow storm did not deliver…

Was nice to get a day on skis. Was not the storm cycle I was hoping for. Legs are nuked and I had fun, found a few places I didn't find the other 2 times I was there.
.
Fine. Great.
Now, get back to work ....
.
Another storm skiing day at Mission, it was pretty deserted by noon and snowing pretty hard. Still cold. I forgot how much fun 191 Lhasas are, total rocket ships.

Bummed to have missed ya. I think I saw you from ch 2. Legs are smoked here as well. Storm really shit the bed. Oh well, blue skies and fast pow made up for it. Did happen to hike and find knee deep turns off Wardner. Hot lapped 2 and 4. NFG gate 2 was pretty wind affected.

I think most people on here are too young to realize that you are referencing Jackie Gleason and The Honeymooners. One of my fav back and forth arguments between the Gleason character (Ralph Cramdon) and Alice:
Gleason: I'm the boss and you're nothing, repeated many, many times.
Alice: Big deal, you're the boss of nothing.
Gleason goes bug eyed, realizing he just set himself up: To the moon, Alice, to the moon; bam, zoom, pow.

sorry dude,
I just googled some shit off the webz ....
.
wind was friendly, wind was harsh. NEer left me perplexed and wanting more
was amazed how well the windpack rode at the $chwiz yesterday
hit me up if you make it over here ....
my 8th season @49N

I blame the casino
Shit, looks like words out… people want to ski the featureless mound in Chewelah!

It was all resorts. Super bizarre and hopefully not the new normal. Hopefully the rain Saturday afternoon scared them back to their mall shopping and coffee sipping on weekends.

The foreign pass above the Salmo River skied well today, though the snow got stickier after our siesta on Ripple Ridge.
Interesting... Schweitzer was loaded with people Saturday, too. I was blaming Alterra/iKon. Maybe it's more than that. Maybe it was because of pent-up demand since conditions have been lacking this season and Saturday was one of the few good weekend days so far.
Ya gotta appreciate Mt. Spokane's honesty in this morning's report:
"It’s time. There's a saying in the backpacking thru-hike community “embrace the suck.” It’s time to break out those extra fat boards and that ultra-expensive wet weather outerwear and see if they live up to all that marketing hype. We’re not going to sugar-coat it with rose-colored goggles, saying this rain is great for building our base, or that the it's super awesome, blah blah."
