Three seasons?! I made it like 10 days on stock scarpa intuition liners before painful packing out, then a rebake and another 10 days. I’m now using wrap liners with my tx comps (40+ days since baked). They came (unused) out of a pair of older full tilts. Not sure which version of wrap liners.
Larry’s in Boulder (bootfitter) made so many tweaks to my stock liners after season 1, including a second bake now that I think about it, that they’re a bit of a frankenliner but they have held on for 75+ days. I’m remembering now that I have an old pair of Powerwraps in the closet with probably 40 days. Will give them a go this weekend.
I have skied both Meidjo and Lynx, and both are super fun to ski and incredible to tour in. Each has its own issues (of course that's true for every binding I've ever skied or seen skied). I settled on Lynx because of 22D's hole pattern and Outlaws and because I found them a tad simpler.Quote:

If you have small boots like 22.5- 24.5 and buy 22 designs vise bindings, be prepared to have the cables loosen while you ski enough to have your ski come off without warning. That’s right your ski can come off and be gone. The guys from 22 designs bought a great binding. They don’t make the great binding anymore and make fun of you if you ask for parts for it. They make fun of you while they sell a binding for a lot more money that does not stay on your feet. WTF? How can we be going backwards. It’s a good thing that they copied Russell’s 1x1 mounting pattern so that all bindings can interchange without re-drilling and that us cheap ass telemark skiers keep our old bindings. Someone with smaller feet is going to get hurt.

I’m fine. I think my boots are big enough to ski the vise. One of the main reasons I still ski telemark bindings is that I don’t like pre-release. 22 Designs has brought that back it seems with the vise and smaller boots.Quote:

STFU. I've taped the cable tubes on my blue and black HH's as well as my axls. They rotate by design for adjustment. Set it, tape it, and forget it. And, it's vice, not vise. See what I did there moran?

Another issue for me is that the springs definitely become way less stiff over time. I have 70ish days on mine with stiffest springs set up on stiffest setting, and they now feel way too soft/neutral for my liking. In addition, the claw now has enough fore-aft play, even while skiing lift-serve, to allow snow to pack into the slot where the duck butt fits, allowing the duck-butt to pop out of the claw unexpectedly under load. I’m going to order a set of the redline springs and throw in new spring boxes, but this does seem like a short time for these bindings to wear out.Quote:

There’s a better solution, fix your heel ski for real. As a reformed lift served freeheeler I only tele on heavier XCD hunting powder in the woods.
Mr. Wickstad only drops his knee for the camera these days and makes alpine turns 99.99% of the time. He’s a great skier but could benefit from the safety of releasable bindings and the increased control as he approaches 60.
