Where's the Onion story about "PNW Dads in a Panic over home cooling strategies with upcoming Heat Records"
“Fuck your mac’n’cheese Bobby! Boiling noodles!?!?…..In this heat?!?”

This might be my chance to convince my wife to turn off the goddamn TV for a while, but I doubt it.
My truck hit 102 after being parked for 10 mins

Opening the door only knocked one degree off.
Move her out to the bbq, it works great.

Cast iron would work well too

If it wasn't so damn hot I'd be sleeping instead of reading this whoreible thread.
We are going to be hot but not that hot though I'm not sure once you get up that high for that long it matters much. Splitting hairs I suppose. That was a picture of the nightly news last night. Tri-cities is the closest local news we get.
It's a lovely 64 degrees right now.
It's funny that Tri-cities can be so close yet so different from W2. I love it here but would not want to live there.
Hottest I’ve experienced was 122F over a Labor Day weekend in Redding CA, ‘88 or ‘89. Overnight low was like 95F.
Once you get over about 110 it doesn’t seem to make a lot of difference. Of course humidity plays a role. I was in Death Valley at 114 and it was tolerable in the shade with single digit RH.

tips from someone who deals with 110+ heat a lot: close all your window shades, cook in the morning, fans fans fans, keep ac at 78.
My wife's bread from the other day. She puts the dutch oven on top of the stone and preheats both. It takes a little feel to get the temps right, but the crust is outstanding.

those forecasts are revolting. vibes. we are fucked.
The anomalous heat wave in the PNW would have happened without climate change. It’s just 2F warmer as Cliff Mass pointed out in his blog. We’re fucked, but not because of the forecasts.

So scary! Sending cool thoughts to the PNW mangs from incredibly humid but not super warm Iowa. We went about two weeks without a drop of rain and in the last week we've had 4 plus inches at our house. Flash flooding on the other side of town last night. Raining all day. Things are spinning out of control with climate.

Per Seattle Times:
The average high temperature at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for June 26 is 73 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The airport reached that temperature today at 7:30 a.m.
Glad I got my exercising done early this morning.
^we pushed off at 0630 when temp was 60*
Finished at 0830 - temp was 80*
Gonna be a hot week
It was 76 at my house in n Wenatchee at 0500 this am. Not unprecedented but this is just the start. Hottest I can remember here was 108, it’s been more than 10 years ago iirc.

We were breaking records last week in SW CO, right now it's 61 and dropping. If I hadn't just cleaned the shit out of my stove I'd light a fire.
A couple of weeks ago is was as hot as I can remember. Right around 90 in Tabernash. Right now it's 51 and raining. I love it.
The highest I saw on my thermometer at home was 97, but plenty of places got over 100 today and it's only supposed to get hotter through Monday.
It was to cool and not sunny today.
I didn’t want to play golf.
First time in my life I can say that in late June.

KQ, 1104, is that the same as 666?
100F on Union Hill.
80F in the house at 7:00pm. No basement. No AC.
Ugh.
It only hit 79* here but other places on the Island were in the upper 80's/ low 90's, in Eastsound was 98. The highest I've ever seen it here was 89*, When Seattle was over 100 10 or 15 years ago it was only 82 here. The south end of the island has much more moderate temperatures than the north end, you can feel the change when you pass a certain point on the road.
Just saw on the news it’s supposed to be 114 on Monday, in Seattle.
Hard to wrap my head around that one.
