Jim:
I can't go that far. I am sneaking away from work / On-call gotta stay close. Also Rose is my home Mountain. BAAD KARMA to go elswhere on opening day. I was tempted to go to Alpine, but see above about Karma.
MTT:
I'll write you a doctors note.
Why Alpine? No cornices or upper mountain will be open; no backside open, right?
Funny you brought that up. My left ACL is 30% as 2 year ago MRI. I have already split cartilage in left knee last weekend; I think I am one fuck-up away from an ACL replacement. Need to get on good terms with a Reno Orthopedic surgeon.Quote:

Hey Jim:
See you @ Mt. Rose! Show up in the AM if it sucks drive on down the road
Also looks like I am bringing Mom. She wants to use her pass for opening day
My recommendation: Dr. Thomas Fyda, Alpine Bone & Joint Clinic, in Reno.Quote:

Think on the bright side. At least you haven't run into a giant solitary tree. The skiing equivalent of hitting a parked car.Quote:

I was at Alpine picking up my pass around noon today. It was snowing at the Lodge. Rain just below the parking lot.Quote:

That jibes with the 1:45pm email I (and the other parents of team members) got from Scott Stone, head coach of Alpine's Junior Development Team: "Outside it is currently trying to decide if it wants to snow or rain here at the Base. Lift ops are planning on Kangaroo and possibly Roundhouse Friday the 2nd and a chance of Summit for the weekend."Quote:
