I found this thread ATK Spacer (Google search, not TGR). It'd be an easy 3d Print as a 'stomp pad' if I had some dimensions. They would be specific heights with no adjustment and need to have a gap:

Oliunid has them for $25, but add on another $15 to ship. Worth it if you need some other stuff too, they always have great prices on ATK and sometimes skis and related gear. I've bought lots of stuff from them before.

Looking at getting a pair of tech bindings for my ski mountaineering / low tide BC day setup (BD Helio Carbon 88s or Cirque 84s). BD has the Kuluar 9 - not Kuluar LT - on sale. It seems that the Kuluar 9 (non LT) is the old model, with a 50g weight penalty? Any other major differences?

I’m looking at Kuluar 9 or the ATK Crest 10 - any strong views? I saw a few posts comparing the differences a few pages back (quoted below). I’m relatively new to the AT/tech binding world - coming from the Fritschi Vipec Evo after 15 years on tele. 195# with ski gear, DIN ~8 usually.

Primary differences seem to be that the Crest has brakes, Cam Release system, Elastic Release System, different vertical and lateral releases, and walk mode heights (and rotations to access them).

I didn't even realize there were two different version until now. Might still work for what you need but a bit of a gamble. I have one of these but I'm not sure which it was that I ordered forever ago.

I can’t see how you would mount the other two spacers nicely with brakes on the bindings. Brake less you would mount up the bindings then mount the space. There is only 1 screw on the space so you have to get it right up against the baseplate to hold it straight.

I feel the extra power in the heel on the FR14 with the space.

The only difference between Kuluar and Kuluar LT is brakes. They have the same plastic base plate so you can always get brakes and add them.

On crest vs Kuluar, I think you have to decide if you want a U-spring binding without vertical release adjustability.
In my experience, having to turn the tower to get to different heights is super annoying. But that's only a problem if your touring boots don't have good ROM.
The crest has a different toe piece than the kuluar also. I don't know if there is a functional difference with the springs on both sides vs only one. I have bindings with both but haven't noticed any difference.

On the speed radicals, If you already have them go for it. But if you are buying something new there are better options unless the price difference is huge.

Thanks, MottN. Good to know. It looks like I can get Speed Radicals for $335, ATK Crest 10 for $300, and Kuluar for $280. I agree on wanting to avoid having to turn the tower for different heights.

Those bindings seem like they've been through some stuff.

I'm sure moment or atk or bd will warranty those heels.

Follow up question. For folks who have used the AL05 or AL07 how have they held up when used touring in flat mode? I assume the boot lands on it.

Yeah, I had something similar on Crest 10. Mike Hagen gave me a new length screw assembly and I switched it out. All good now

Got annoyed at the lack of pretty solutions to shim atk toes so cut some on the CNC. Happy to pump out some more if people are interested, for cost of materials and shipping. 3.2mm and 4.7mm for starters. 28g/pair for the 3.2, 33g/pair for the 4.7mm.

Took a fall today when I was looking at the pack of dogs headed my way instead of the re-frozen and rutted snow in front of me. The Voyager 12 (ATK FR) released exactly as I would want it to. It's probably overkill, mounted on a Zero G 95, my resort skinner. On the other hand I appreciate how it skis and that it works as it should.

Anyone know if it’s possible to get just the heel pieces for an haute route/helio 200lt? Skimoco sells them with the plates, but i don’t really need them and would prefer to get just the towers if it’s possible
