I wouldn't completely lie. I'd just give 'em the old "yeah I've tried it" line. They can interpret that how they want (as noted above they're not stupid), and it allows you to speak to the topic with some credibility if there are questions or concerns.Quote:

Yes it does expire. However, an expired dose is better than nothing if it’s all that’s available. It also shouldn’t be stored in a vehicle due to temp extremes. So not super convenient but one could always tote around a man purse?Quote:

This has less to do with having it in case of an emergency and more to do with having a conversion with anyone and everyone about overdoses whether intentional or not. It's likely not to be the addict in the park, more likely your kid or one of his friends who pops a pill thinking it's something else. Or the neighbor boy who mistakenly takes an extra dose after having his wisdom teeth pulled. Or your co worker who's going through a nasty divorce and just needs to escape for a few. You don't want to be the one asking "what if."

My kid is premed with a Neuropsychologist for a mom. She’s not remotely interested in anything hard, I’ve explained how some hard things feel to her and she’s like, nope don’t want that.
She likes edibles on occasion to chill. That’s really it.
She saw the 2+ year detox of me getting off benzodiazepines. Pills and powder pharmaceuticals are evil in this family.

Drugs are a lot different these days.
Lots of fentanyl out there these days. Just found out today a friend of a friend’s 17 year old was found dead one morning a month back. Good family, kid didn’t drink according to my friend, good grades, trace amounts of fentanyl found in his blood.
Another friend is a 5th grade teacher, just had a new training on drugs. Kids order it online, gets delivered like Uber eats from a fast food restaurant, same packaging, sometimes they get it delivered to school. almost always laced with fentanyl.
It’s not the 90s and 00s anymore. My kid is 3 so luckily we’re some years away from any drug talk so I have no advice, but it’s a lot different then when I grew up

For new parents, I highly recommend deployment the Dream Feed strategy. Used it on both of ours and had stellar results after a week. I believe we added a second feeding around 3 am as necessary. Better to wake up by your own alarm once a night than all night long.

Body, yes I know. However I want one in my daughter’s college dorm room where she could get to it easily if an emergency arises. Not just “available on campus”.
Got it. They hand them out at my kids campus. Easy access to get and have around. My kid keeps 2 doses.
In terms of parent/kid relationship, providing tnarcan doses to kids to have with them seems like it can lead to a positive conversation and boost of relationship between parents and older kids.
