One common thread is some of these events is resisting arrest. The guy in Georgia and the lady in Austin both physically resisted the orders and/or arrest by the cops. When you physically resist all bets are off for what the cops will do. The ACLU's advice for handling police stops

If the stop and or cops treatment of you is inappropriate then take it up later but physically resisting is a recipe for trouble and possibly resisting arrest or obstructing an officer charges.
