I do similar. I don't use public bathrooms at l right now. Find a tree if. need to. Not out of the house that many hours. I did use one at the school yesterday when I was distributing food, but no one else is using that bathroom right now. Read an article on aerosolized shit and cover from flushing. I don't mind the cover, but no way do I want some dudes shit up my nose. Not really getting much gas, but I have nitrate gloves on hand from fiberglass work, so I keep some in the car. I was using them when we went skiing before everything got shut down - hours in the car with no where to washy hands. Not washing the groceries, but I do unpack shit, or store it in my storeroom for a few days. Need milk, so gonna see if I can do a quick milk, wine, horseradish shop spree at Safeway today. When I drove by there the other day there was no line. I do not want to wait in line. Ever. That is why I'll choose the fixed grip instead of the high speed.
Russian roulette chronicles: due to critical urgency took a chance at the Donner Summit rest stop day before yesterday. After recovering from my surprise that it was even open, I almost bolted when I observed not a single masked or gloved individual, including the state employee emptying the trash cans. However, by then it was too late and options had dwindled to a Maya Rudolph/Bridesmaids moment in the parking lot or waddle into the stall. Lo and behold, the interior was the cleanest I've ever seen, lots of TP and soap dispensers all full. I came out refreshed and restored, but still uneasy.
Another consequence of all that hand washing:
Improved hygiene during pandemic might be to blame for muckier wastewater coming out of Liberty Lake plant
You're guess is as good as any - going to depend on where you tune in. Last night I saw Trump's latest presser and as usual I came away totally confused wanting only to curl up in the fetal position and rock.
Ugh... he actually said that the lock down has cost more lives than the virus. That people are offing themselves left and right "probably more so than the virus has killed." So now we have 80K suicides too? Ugh. The mind-numbing BS/contradictions/outright lies is what's enough to make you off yourself.

I stopped wiping them down. Just too tired to care that much anymore.
There are two realities right now:
- Those that have been lucky enough to work from home. These people haven’t left their house in a week. They have a mask and gloves donned every second they are out in public. They open doors with their elbows, they sidestep 6’ around people at the supermarket, they refuse to use public toilets, they disinfect their packages and credit cards, etc...
- Those that unfortunately have had to go to work through this whole thing. They’ve been wearing a mask and gloves for 40+ hours a week for almost 6 weeks at this point, they are over it, you probably see them without a mask on at the supermarket on Sunday. They shit in a public toilet every morning. They grab their morning coffee with an un-gloved hand from the Starbucks drivethru 5 days a week. Etc....

Things being what they are, I sure would feel more secure and would shop more if the mask I was wearing was N95. Maybe a WTB in Gear Swap?
Read public health department reports. One was posted from Montana a few pages back. About a quarter of Montana cases were "community spread" meaning extensive science-based contact tracing was tried and failed to find contacts. My county health department also reported "community spread" early in the epidemic when cases were low enough to trace them all. I'm hoping they'll report again as cases are again low enough to contact trace them all.
It's been shown other respiratory viruses spread via fomite (surfaces). WHO/CDC will have links to the studies. No reason to believe SARS-CoV-2 is any different.
Yeah but not everyone is ya know. ?

I don’t fit into either of those. Work brings me out of the house three days a week. I won’t use a public toilet if I can help it. Wearing mask pretty much every where: work, store, rides: anywhere I come within 10’ of others. I will avoid you in the store, cause why the fuck would I ever want some mouth breather near me.
What pisses me off is all the people who drive into this county every weekend to recreate and almost none of them can fit a mask in their ducking suburban after they pack all their $8000 bikes in there. Then slowly ride single track or ride side by side by side across the entire fire road. Bike from your home. If you are going come to my neighborhood and rub shoulders with me wear a fucking mask.
You seem like a Kirby guy.
Cut up a Kirby filter bag and make a few masks.

Did have a Kirby. Weighed a ton. Good knife sharpener attachment
I just orders the Q1005 mask. It was pricey, but it will also soothe my poison oak and dissolve any gall stones I get.

Turns out that a young woman skier from Colorado may be one of the people saving the world. Starts with vaccine basics, and has good PowerPoint slides.
