Natural gas prices are 4 times higher in Europe than in the us.
The high cost of energy is crippling some industries, in Germany specifically. It has been in a near recession for almost 2 years.

California has a different industry makeup, relying more on software, movies etc, where energy cost is not important.

But i do think that Russia wants peace now if
NATO is of the table
Ukraine is neutral, just like Austria became after ww2
And Russia keeps donbas and crimea.

I’m not seeing much detail about what exactly the USA and Ukraine have agreed to but it looks like it’s just Ukraine using its mineral resources to repay the USA, not operating mines or reserves. Resources are basically worthless until proven economic, as you say. So yeah, if there is any value it won’t be realized for 5-10 years giving this deal even less value at the present moment.

Any of you turds actually read the full text of the “mineral” deal? This isn’t a deal, it’s a fund set up and jointly administered by the US and Ukraine for the rebuilding of Ukraine. All revenue generated by the development of resources and industry in Ukraine goes into the fund for more rebuilding and development in Ukraine. The security details have yet to be worked out. This is a win for Ukraine and Europe in general economically and could be a for security as well. I don’t see how MAGA views this as a win, we’re still going to be giving Ukraine billions

“Development of resources”, means mining. The fact most of these resources are not currently being mined tells me It’s not yet economically feasible.
