Fall '83 has some gems. This is one of my favorites from that ear. There are a few really good mixes if you don't find this particular one to fit the bill but I think you'll dig it.

Agreed, one of the better tleo's and big rr you will hear in that era and some interesting 2nd set jams. The source I have is the seamons matrix which is on archive but I got it off etree I think, possibly LL. There is also another sbd source that I believe would be better also. Somewhat surprised there's not a CM matrix for this.Quote:

Late Edit: Thanks to schwerty I'm now on a 24hr '83 binge! A bunch of solid shows I haven't listened to in too long. This one stands out, the playin' is worth the listen alone (has a great 77-78 vibe imo) and from another Seamons matrix with a little assistance from Charlie. The night before is no slouch either (Dick's Picks #6).

I woke to a quite house this morning and made it through the entire show before my 2 year old woke up. I really enjoyed the Saint, Bobby had great energy for it.

Hometown show for me. Caused a lot of controversy with the side show/shakedown antics. Really too bad but I sure did enjoy myself. Not the best of the year but still purdy good and worth a listen if you haven't heard it.

Interesting show that I haven't listened to in a while. I remember being pissed when this tour was announced because of all the Midwest shows being a spoiled EC'er but you guys deserved some love after 88 being so heavy with eastern seaboard shows.
Great source with Phil and Brent prominent in the mix throughout. You can tell Brent isn't in top form, especially during Blow Away, but this version is precursor to the all time best played (imo) later that summer on 7-7. Although somewhat short, the PITB is very well played and ranks in the top 5 for the year.

DSO is making a 3 show run through Colorado, at great venues, I'm bummed its over July 4th weekend. I tried to listen to some 89-90 stuff while its near and dear from so many shows seen in the period, I started listening to a dark star from miami in 89, well i just had to stop and go back to the benchmark years above. I could listen to the eleven elevent times in a row....

I really like HS work on this one. The quality is up and down but when things align, it's off the hook. The first set is good. Loser and Let It Grow are both excellent. The JS is a little off but it's a show opener. The second set shines. Shakedown is fantastic, Terrapin is on point. I really dig the NFA on this recording too. All together, a really great '81 showing.
