Episode two was very substantial improvement.
The Edge of Tomorrow themed special forces exercise was fucking hilarious.
They still need to lose Mike (who?) Skinner.
New episode is up.
Also I couldn't help but notice the giant banner ad at the top of the Amazon Prime Video page that seasons 0-17 of BBC Top Gear are all available for streaming. Want seasons 18-22 (the most recent)? They're available on Netflix.
I just need a few days of nothing to do, a Costco sized box of Cheez-Its, and a few cases of beer and I'm all set.

3rd episode definitely going in the right direction. Glad to see that Skinner didn't make an appearance, that guy was terrible.
Add me to the list hoping that they keep up the full episode destination/travel shows. Definitely the best part of Top Gear IMO.
Put the three of them in an uncomfortable situation with some shitty cars. Let them be culturally insensitive and bicker with each other, then modify said shitty cars in creative and amusing ways, and continue the bickering and cultural insensitivity. Someone will buy someone else a rediculous gift that doesn't really fit in their vehicle, Hammond will lose a wheel...
Easy recipe for a fantastic show.
Haven't watched e3 yet, but glad to hear the redneck wasn't included.
I always liked the stig's foreign cousins... they must be able to do something like that for their track tests without violating the BBCs copyright on the character.

I enjoyed it. It was a typical TG episode (probably wasn't blown away because I'm not that into any of the cars they took with em). I would have loved to play Battleship like that though. Just seemed fun.Quote:

Christmas Specials are back too? I think it's time that we stop being so hard on this show and just enjoy it for what it is. The only thing that could make this better is the birth of another Baby Jeee-I mean Stig...us.
I didn't realize anyone was really being critical... The new show is awesome. Anyone who figured they'd seamlessly transition from a decade-plus long routine to a different format without so much as a segment falling flat or a mistimed punchline should definitely post a link to the perpetually funny and successful tv show they're producing. If Jerry and Larry are maggots, by all means, call me out here.
Every episode has been better than those before it, and this last one really hints at the potential for not just recreating the magic, but expanding on it, with freedom to be creative and crude in ways that the broadcast tv format would never have delivered and the BBC would never have approved. It was great to see a better mix of cars and comedy in this episode. The army-whatever episode had me a little concerned that this might stop being basically a car show... But it seems clear to me that CHM are rapidly dialing in the formula for resuming production of the most entertaining weekly show on any medium. Since I ditched TV this summer, this is literally the only show I've watched.
Good episode. More like old times.

Great episode too overall. I was actually curious to see the Focus ST since it's been so hyped on Jalopnik et al.
I had more than a few chuckles out loud too.
Am I the only one that was hoping they'd talk about/have challenges with the Fisker, Saab 900 and Boxster they drove there? (Still not sure of the Boxster's tie to Scandinavia/Finland - maybe because the 356 was made up there for a while? (I think))

I did happen to stumble upon that he did a live chat on their new website/forum, Drivetribe while chilling in my hotel room this week. It was pretty funny reading May interact with fans/readers. Even funnier was Hammond continuously chiming in asking how much he enjoyed working as a waiter in a male strip club while unemployed.
Consistently good episodes now. Lots of laughs and good segments. They even admitted out loud that Celebrity Brain Crash is horrible.
Oh, and Jeremy's Maser Biturbo was gorgeous! Those wheels!
What the fuck, I can't find a single pic of the car (which appeared stock) trust me it's gorgeous
I haven't seen all of them but I feel like there's somehow less content in the same amount of time
And the American segment would be vastly improved if they bought a ball gag for him

"Welcome Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and Brian May" in the opening credits.
The dildo as a steering wheel knob was priceless.
Still pissed I can't find a pic of the same model Biturbo that Clarkson had, it was 70/80s car porn for sure.
Also, in classic TG fashion they put the premium trim behind Clarkson. The young lady with the striking blue eyes tonight was pretty distracting.
