What exactly don't you like here? Spoon feeding infants? Inviting friends to parties? Just because somebody is "in their 60's" doesn't mean somebody hijacked their wheelchairs at the nursing home, drugged them, and dragged them across town to force feed them birthday cake. Some people put value on celebrating things like new babies with their friends and would be offended if they weren't invited. Not everyone is so cynical about "breeding" as to assume they should feel ashamed about their new child and ensure no one finds out they're adding to the world's population problem. If you guys don't like that shit, maybe you could rent a few Sex and the City DVD's and spend the day on your couch commiserating about how irresponsible it is to procreate.

to answer your question: my idea of a birthday party for a one-year old is to invite your close friends and family over for cake. Not rent the community house of dad's golf community, and invite people that have their own kids/grandkids, etc. to indulge YOU, the parent, not the baby, and to mine for gifts. There is also a family business that has long time employees. Do you think they (the employees that are like family)maybe felt a touch obligated to go, or were stoked at 3 on a saturday afternoon to drive 40 miles......


selfishly, it was a ski day that ended prematurely. got up early, drove to VT, skied until 1, drove home.....The Ski the East Freeride Tour held a comp at Magic that day....a good day got ripcorded.

i adore the baby, have my own kids, and am generally respectful of others precious free time.

FWIW, if I had the option of farming out my kids birthday to a local rec center instead of letting the kids trash my house, I'd totally do it. Regarding the rest, that sounds really considerate of you... You must be one hell of a guy to be so concerned that some other people might not have wanted to be at the party you didn't want to be at... If those inconsiderate new parents had been just a little less selfish, they'd have spared their other friends' feelings by not throwing the party at all... Then, those poor long time employees wouldn't have to kowtow to their inconsiderate boss and his demanding progeny...

I have 8 different systems I need to be able to login to at work. All with different PW requirements (but all require complex combos, with numbers and lower/upper case), and some that expire after 60 or 90 days. I'm sure someone or some group think this is high security. Except for all the users that write the damn passwords down on a sticky next to the computer.

Motherfuckers got pissed at me yesterday because I was stopped at a stop sign making a right turn. I see them coming in my side mirror and I pull out to make the turn. Apparently they had no intention of stopping at the stop sign and wanted to blow right through going straight.

I got a good look at one of em saying Fuuuuucccckkkkk.....Youuuuuuu..... as I pulled away.

Which is it, share the road and traffic laws for cars and bikes or does that only apply to motorists and you spandex pricks get to pick and choose what part of share the road you're going to obey.

What the hell is up with supermarkets these days? You want shredded cheddar, it's over by the vegetables. Sliced provolone? Along the back wall. Muenster? Deli. Queso fresco? Fresh salsa section. Roquefort? Specialty cheese case. Cream cheese? Yoghurt section.

At least I get my exercise doing laps around the grocery store trying to find everything.
