Yeah, went from nothing to midwinter in 3 weeks. Once this settles, we're looking at a 6'+ base. Talk about facet killer. Shaping up for a stable year. Pretty scary right now though.

Someone with a Facebook account do whatever you call it and tell Vail to knock the snow off their snow stake cam.
Oh and today at Vail was wonderful.
We are definitely going to ski a few hours. We have a 530 pm back to Boston, but there is a forecasted Nor'Easter...
It warmed up in the afternoon and the snow may have started getting upside down. Let's hope not.
There was an all call on the radio today that said 5 will open thursday. I talked to a patroller at 4:00 today and he told me to keep an eye on the gates tomorrow afternoon.
Time it right and you will see your flight is delayed while you're skiing a few hours. Then you ski a whole day!
Tomorrow morning looks like the last best time with this cycle. It starts getting really warm tomorrow afternoon. What an amazing 2.5 weeks.
Consult sig.
RT, might be able to take a lap with you. I'll hollar.
Aww... How bromantic.
The only reason why more terrain isn't open is staffing. Plenty of snow for almost the entire mountain to be open right now. They're working crazy hard right now on it.
Fucked up that they need to wait till Thu to open 5. By then the snow will be totally fucked with warmth and sun. They really need to be opening it tomorrow.
The snow was going upside down by the end of the day. That last 5-6 inches of wetter snow and graupal was causing stabilization issues, too. Lots more activity once it fell - like a switch was turned on.
Tele line looks good. Another 2 feet from today. Interesting. Insert image of that guy doing that thing.
Chair 5 this afternoon..... montanskier's neighbor's coke dealer told me.
Might as well get this started for December...... since it worked out well last round.

Graupel in Vail village and feels warm. Snowing good over the pass. Hope the upper mtn is tasty.
No butthurt over the coming week of dry weather? C'mon, I know y'all got it in you.

Going the other way.
Breckenridge is "reporting" 93 inches and its not even December yet.
If you just forecast normal snow fall totals for the next 4 months, another record season is possible.
It you project the % on top of normal totals for whatever its over for November, Summit County may earn the title of "epic" conditions for the season.
Stoked for all you I-70ers.
Now let's get some W/WSW flow goin in December, can I get an amen
An 1/8" ice crust bottom to top....that's gonna be an issue in the BC.
Beav opening was fun, but the upside down snow was not the best. Surfy on top, but if you punched through, you might be going endo. About to ski Vail, we'll see how that is.
