I was driving on the beltway, somewhere around GA ave. A tire from a roll back dumpster truck bounced over the center wall, coming from the opposite direction. Nothing like a 200lb rim and tire, with 100+ mph closing rate, to wake you up in the morning.
It was pretty freaky. I saw that thing the whole way, from when it was rolling down the track before it got punted, all the way until like a milisecond before it hit the guy, other people blocked my view of the impact.

I was driving on a two lane road with a 45mph...a log truck was coming from the other way. The driver either missed or didn't tighten down one of his tie downs. Before I knew it, I saw the big metal piece coming right at my face.
I almost crashed...mostly b/c it scared the shit out of me. Totally fucked the windshield, but thank god for safety glass.

I came across a pickup towing 5th-wheel that had lost it's rear driver's side wheel on the highway once. It appeared that the driver of the truck didn't notice, because you could see that it had been dragging it's rear axle for quite a while, and the hub was nowhere to be found. The hub had broken off about 2-3km before, after the rear brake had dragged itself to death another kilometer earlier. Another 2km up the road, I saw a Pontiac Grand Am parked on the shoulder with extensive damage to the bumper, hood, windshield, and roof. All with a tire mark straight through it.Quote:
