sox win, thanks mariano.
Heh. I jinxed them, sue me.
Of course, it didn't help that Rivera's cutter wasn't cutting. I'd be a little concerned about that.
Regardless, it was a great baseball game. I love that I gnaw all my nails off and it's only april.
HOLY SHIT!!!!
My man Craig Biggio just hit a GRAND SLAM in the top of the 9th to put the Astros up 6-4, but in the bottom of the 9th the Beers hit a HR off of Lidge and it is now 6-5 'Stros. I'm watching the web-cast thingy on MLB.com....
ASTROS 6, BREWERS 5, thanks to a GRAND SLAM by BIGGIO!!!!!!
I wish I could have seen it on TV. I'll have to watch Baseball Tonight later!!!!
Astros have won 5 in a row, longest current winning streak in MLB...
AND... puts 'em on top of the NL Central!!!
WOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!
(just let me enjoy it while it lasts and before the Cards start kicking everyone's ass again....)
I must say. Okajima is nasty. me likey.
SOMEDAY....... the Rockies are going to be a solid and consistent team. Just you wait.... ;)
they might be, maybe.
I'm horrified.
Crucify him on a cross of General Tso's chicken and lapsang oolong teabags. I know I've got one around here somewhere.
no teabagging, please.
That's A-rod 's department.
'Stros are down by 2 in the top of the ninth (fingers crossed....)
Rockies are getting rocked by the Padres.... AGAIN.
My teams are losing today. :nonono2:
The Rockies went cold very quickly. I hope they can turn things around soon.
Just like any other baseball tread on this board, because apparently Major League Baseball consists of only two teams. Hell, why do we even have a season? They should just move one of them to the NL and have a 6 month long World Series between the Yankees and Red Sox every year so you guys can measure your dicks and throw beer and pizza at each other all summer long.
Yankees fans? Anything to say? How's that prediction doin for ya, irul?
ahahahahahahahaha
too bad manny's in a slump and no one can hit wright's changeup
just a play at the announcers. they couldn't stop talking about manny's slump, then he went LOONNGGG, then they spent 10 straight minutes repeating "he's got this great changeup and he's not afraid to use it. he loves using this change up. the changeup is what makes this kid a major league pitcher". then the other three immediately chimed in. good shit there boys
The announcers are absolutely horrible. I can't believe that Joe Morgan ever even played let alone managed with some of the shit that comes outta his mouth.
They've showed the same Barry Bonds highlight EVERY fucking inning. And I'm pretty sure that everyone in the booth would jump at the opportunity to give a rod a blowjob.
Gamebreak from inside my pants: I have a raging Papelboner.
Nice prediction Irul. Hey, where's that guy been all weekend?
What an excellent series. Production from every part of the order, tek got hot, the pitching wasn't necessarily fantastic (except the bullpen), but I attribute that more to the incredible Yankees lineup more than anything else.
yeah, right, I agree. What gives him the right? What, just 'cause he's a Hall of Famer from possibly the greatest team in history, and respected by his peers as a player and reporter? What a dumbass. I would much rather hear McCarver/Buck give me their wonderful, seering insight into our national pastime in between commercials for crap on FOX.
Well...I think Im starting to sober up. By the 7th inning Friday night I was in the early stages of a weekend long blackout and missed the whole series. The last I saw of this team, Manny was in a slump, Lowell cant hit anything over 90 mph, Varitek sucks, Coco is even worse, and Pedroia cant hit or field. Our bullpen is in shambles...the "other" japanese guy cant hit 85 on the gun...and Papelbon pitches too much.
What baseball means to me
:yourock:
Papelbon is absolutely sick. The split he threw to Damon- one of the best pitches I've EVER seen. I hope he stays healthy, because he's going to dominate as a closer for years to come.
And yes, the announcers are horrible. Joe Morgan is the worst on ESPN since Jeff Brantley left. I wish every game could be done by Dan Schulman, Orel Hershiser and Steve Phillips.
let Drew get your hopes up let them build and build ha.
and that series proved theold Baseball mantra, good hitting beats bad pitching any day.
oh and who has the most wins of any team in the majors?
Dodgersforeverholmes.[/tossing mad two handed d-F sign I learned on the East side]
McCarver and Buck are worse than Miller and Morgan, no doubt about it. But the M & M boys are almost as painful, with Miller's relentless goofiness and Morgan's self-righteous blather.
Whatever, Martha Stewart and Joan Rivers could have announced and I would have watched.
As far as announcers - I always enjoy listening to Bob Uecker. I was listening to some of the Astros/Brewers series on XM radio this weekend. I keep waiting for him to say something straight out of the movie Major League.
"Juuuuuust a bit outside...."
McCarver and Buck don't even count- they're so far below everyone else that I don't consider them announcers.
Fuck. George is not happy.
George is sick.
