Newsflash: they don't. So move on and stop your thrunting.

No, you move on the the naked girl thread. Why the fuck are you posting here?
People here don't mind looking at questionably obtained naked women pictures, but if the wrong person finds naked pictures of a person online it can seriously fuck up their lives, so you all better be damn sure those women know their picture is going to be taken, and know you are going to post it online.
Or else you are putting your desires to look at pictures of naked women above their safety, comfort, reputation... all things that could be destroyed.. have been destroyed for women when the wrong people found naked pictures of them...
That's par for course, though, right?
Melodrama? Yeah, pretty much.
All true, but it should be even more fundamental than that. Putting aside possible consequences, it just seems to show a lack of respect for another person. I wouldn't even think of doing that to someone I didn't know, let alone a woman I was involved with. Clearly there are those who don't see it that way, but it kind of brings us back to the original question--who are these people, and what makes them think this is OK? Simply the fact that we live in a society that objectifies women and still has basic issues of inequality doesn't explain it, because we all live in that society but obviously not everyone learns the lesson that women are inferior and not deserving of equal respect and rights.
Ok. Well, makerstelemark just admitted to being one of those people.
Is he a valued member of this community?
Is anyone telling him he is a piece of shit human being?
That they wish he would have broken his neck rather than his leg?
Serious.
Did you not see that? Does that help with you question about where the "sexual assault people" are?
I think the point is, dude isn't going to care if I say he's a bad man....
The whole shtick is that being that bad guy pisses off some people, who you write off as pussies and feminazis, and excites the hot skanky chicks you want to bang.
Now, I'm sure you don't want this to be true...but it is true. So until it stops working so well for those guys, I wouldn't expect it to stop. It's fine to blame the men, but also blame the women who respond favorably to it.
I do see your point on one level, Yeti, but I think those women are the "crazy ones" who will pay back the asshole in crazy...
I don't think many women are ok with pictures being posted without their permission or rape or assault.
Also, people seek out what they are use to. It's comfortable for them even if it's totally destructive... children of alchololics marry alchololics, many rape victims are victimized more than once because predators look for victims... low self esteem, unhealthy desire to please people... or the worst..over-compensating for fear... I will not be afraid, I'm not afraid, I'm overreacting... ignoring gut feelings and putting self in harm's way so not to be a victim... best not to ask me about that one..
Point is, it's a huge mess, and EVERYONE needs to stand up against it. Everyone.
How's that saying go? Every girl wants a bad boy that is only good to her, and every boy wants a good girl that is only bad to him.
While such unacceptable gender interaction does exist in Yurp and Quebec, folk there seem to have far different practices of social nudity and sexual interaction. Wonder if any mags from such places have any insights from those cultures that would help the conversation.
while anecdotal, ftr I have never liked the ‘bad boy’
fuck that shit

Me neither... lots of story book romances where the girl tames the beast, tho...
They are dangerous. They condition their readers. Be careful what kids read. The girl roles your daughter most encounters will seriously influence the roles she chooses in life.
Boys, too.
But back to markerstelemark...
You all think it's ok he says it's ok to take and post nude pictures of women without their knowledge and permission...
Isn't that worse than all Pios bullshit?
Or did you ski with him... he's a good skier, so it's all good?
mtngirl, your [commendably relentless] debate points are logical and winning the argument. But unfortunately sometimes there's a cost that comes with being right.
i haven’t been following the thread to see this- but if so- that is bullshit (postings pics w/o knowledge)
if he’s an old fuck that thinks he can get away with that, he will learn otherwise
it’s just beyond douchey. i dont follow all your names and avatars here but don’t make me make a super weird fuck/ avoid list

there's the dex we all know and love!
It's a hypothetical. Probably happens sometimes (and ppl acknowledge it's wrong), but mtngirl is more interested in projecting her own poor thought processes on dex than actually having a discussion. As is normally the case, it's shades of truth wrapped in mind-numbing levels of baggage.
Look...this has happened twice on this forum lately.
Two of us more-or-less bared our souls in the mass shooting thread and told awful stories of how those deals have broken us...and the discussion just roared past like freeway traffic.
Mtng has "baggage" because these guys who just plow their way through hundreds of damaging interactions with women and girls leave a wake of damaged people. There's a point there...the point isn't to focus on her, and identify her shortcomings, the point is there is a statistically significant layer of our female population who have this baggage because the behaviors and mentalities that create it are endemic to who we are. We have a rapey/molesty fucking president....he has a long track record of being on that spectrum, and we nominated him for a major party and elected him president. That should say it all about our culture's level of comfort with creepy men.
It seems like, at least for this last little while, mainstream media culture is just, collectively, saying enough already with this shit. The only point I've had to make here is that changing it is going to be a protracted and complex thing that involves fighting some of our nature as a species.
And for fuck's sake...I got sucked into this thread by iceman saying we'll all be better off when creepers can do their creeper stuff with VR and robots. Hopefully that's sooner than later.
Joking about it is not acknowledging it's wrong...
This is proof why this shit happens and why women don't report it and why people like Dexter can easily pretend it doesn't exist.
Your naked picture thread is more important than being sure no woman are harmed via that thread.
It's nearly the exact thing women are told when they report bad behavior... oh, it was a joke. Oh, you took it the wrong way. Oh, he's a good guy. Oh, don't be so sensitive. Stop ruining our fun. Leave if you don't like it.
When you say "people like Dexter" do you mean people who start threads on internet discussion boards to try to better understand the issue? People who act in such a way as to discourage this behavior by those in their presence and therefore don't see it? I'm sure Dexter is no saint, but I'm having trouble picking out which of his attributes you wish to apply to others when you say people like him might pretend it doesn't exist.
You two have a disagreement about the appropriateness and meaning of a joke. Jokes are open to interpretation like that. (Most commonly including whether or not it even was a joke.) Reasonable people can disagree. Really reasonable people try not to fall into arguments that distract them from the point.
It's unreasonable to joke about harming people.
The sneaky naked picture thread needs to go. It encourages harmful behavior.
How many pictures on the Ullr and Part 2 threads were posted by the women in the photos? I would guess none.
These threads are great examples of the juvenile behavior men exhibit all the time. If you say you never see it, take a tour of those two threads. This is your community. The attitudes of the men who post in those threads or just like to look, whether they realize it or not, exemplify the societal problem of how men treat women. It’s not an equal playing field. Men post sexual pictures of women, claim the women consented, and proceed to exhibit the behavior of adolescent boys with the Victoria’s Secret catalogue.
And then, think about statements like this:
or
Most guys on this board are decent people, probably including the poster quoted here, but it’s time to stop justifying this nonsense by sayin “I’m sure they consented and they should be flattered to know that strangers get off by looking at photos of women on the Internet.”
I dont care or want to know whether men think my breasts are perky. it’s not empowering or flattering.
Now, I’m waiting for the self-entitled men on this board to try to intimidate me for speaking out. I should just shut up and let you see my tits. That’s how it works here, right?
Ill just start another one.
You could always leave the free forum that you seem to hate so much.
No one is making you stay here. Even though I did give you money which could be like feeding a stray cat.
Nah. Your wrong.
My wife knows and doesn't care.
Me taking pictures of my wife and posting them does fuck all to society. Calm the fuck down. Jesus.
Id suggest taking a stroll though Instagram someday and see what women are posting.
FIFY. I don't disagree with your overall point, but you can't have it both ways by making men who don't engage in the behaviors you object to responsible for policing others because, in most cases, they aren't involved at all. Ignoring a thread on TGR is like ignoring a lot of the rest of the internet. Sometimes it's just the right thing to do.
Freedom.
Freedom to not have your naked picture taken secretly and posted online for the sexualised entertainment of other people, unless you consent.
Sad how the freedom of one woman is valued less than the freedom of a group of men.
