This warm-up isn't really that bad. Sure, there's no fresh powder out there, but come on, we still have Feb and March coming folks! Last night I went over to Jiminy for some sweet, soft and deep corn harvesting. I don't know about you, but I think corn is almost as nice as powder!

You're so right on the money Sprite with your "go git sum" attitude. Why is everyone around here so :cussing: when they could be more like :the_finge or :FIREdevil .

Personally, on rainy days like the one coming, I like to let the boys out for a swim...see, here they come now...

Despite the wrath of good ol' mother nature and a very warm, unseasonable past
week (with record breaking high temps no less)...we're not letting that stop us
at Plattekill Mountain...and we sure hope that doesn't stop you either!

In fact, we are open today and skiing and riding from 8:45am-4:15 with some real
nice spring conditions...and winter is going to be back tomorrow as we are
expecting snow on Saturday and snow showers throughout the day on Sunday.

Today we're skiing/riding with 10 trails open and 2 lifts and we plan to open
the double chair and up the trail count for the weekend once the snow gets firm
again - hopefully for Saturday. Today we're reporting machine groomed loose
granular and spring conditions on a 8-24" base.

Well, technically they're not lying. It will likely switch over to light snow in the Catskills just before midnight on Saturday with some on and off snow showers Sunday. Maybe an 1" of dust on crust.

And for those of you exhorting us to see the bright side of the current weather, feel free to engage in rain-drenched self-flagellation on mnth old manmade crap. Just don't expect the rest of us to come along for the ride. This is not exactly what makes my spine tingle when I see the first issues of Powder et.al. arrive in the mail in August. It gets old quickly. Beats the hell out of Bed, Bath and Beyond though.

I would love to wear that skiing! :D

On my way back from lunch, there was a lady walking down the street in a long green statue of liberty outfit with a red satin sash draped across it that said something. She's one of the regular "street posse" that mills around downtown.

I wonder where she got the outfit, and what her sash said. Last time I saw her walking around she looked really bad...in a "too much meth" kind of way. Today, she looked rested and like she had gained weight. But anyway, what is the deal with the statue of liberty outfit? I am intrigued!
