Alta is for snowboarders, as well as pedophiles, Buddhists, redheads, skiers, the French, beer drinkers and you. You just can't ride the lift with a sled/snowboard/lawn tractor/81 mm mortar/other non-skis.
How many snowboarders ride Alta? Every one of them that earns their turns like the skiers here who've already done the same. If you haven't, then shut the hell up. If you have, then welcome, brother; Alta is for you.

I was just going to hike the path on the Alta side of the rope and drop into the Snowbird side. I caleed BS, he said he'd call snowbird ski patrol. Not worth the risk, fucking tickets are expensive.
Alta would be fun on a board. The traverses aren't too bad, high traverse would be easy to rock. The only problem is the arrogent douch skiers. Not all, but just like snowboarding they have their fair share. I can only imagine the hell that allowing snowboarding would cause.
brother, if I had a hundred pounds of fat cash for every dumb two planker that thought the same I'd be a rich man. In hard pack you might have a chance, in powder your ass is lost at the word go. Sure, in old days fat skis didn't exist, no one could keep up with a snowboard, but todays skis have more surface area then a snowboard, skiers are more evenly balanced and aerodynamic, and we have poles to get around.
I will readily admit that snowboards excel in Powder and thistight trees, but alas by the bottom of the run I'll be waiting for you to unstrap your binding

Last year at Alta it was a dream come true not having to worry about some punk ass idiot cutting across my line on his/her blind side. The other benefit is find lines even late in the day that haven"t been plowed to death by those shovel based abominations called snowboards.
