Wow, is that 2nd pic showing slide debris at the base of Iron Horse? I wonder how long it takes to dig all that stuff out!
Not iron horse. That is a two seater.
I think that is just snow that had been pushed off the top of Sunrise as they start to dig it out.
I'd be really surprised if a slide would run all the way to the bottom of 3. There is a very long flat run out before you get to the bull wheel.
Skied an eastern aspect in N. Lake this morning. I know the SAC advisory is "moderate," but I'd be really wary of wind slabs. Otherwise, the snow skied well (knee deep) but it didn't feel like 8 feet of pow. Unfortunately, there were some eastern winds picking up.
Noticed some crowns in the vicinity, although I'm guessing they might be from the rain event and not the snow. There's gnarly chunder in Third Creek in Incline, which also probably slid during the rain event.
[Edit] Some pleasant graffiti near Rose Summit.

Ah, Chair 4 looks different on my computer than my iPhone will prying my eyes open at the start of the day!
Stupid Evil E!!!
Drove to A.M. and left (mostly cuz my back was stiff). Summit on wind hold (still is LMAO) and the parking lot completely full by 8:30. Insane. I can't imagine whet the Scott line will look like (and it's already tracked out) I'm not even gonna try to hit the west shore this weekend. I'm scared of getting trapped by gapers. I'm staying well away from Tahoe until Tuesday. I hope it rains 20" up to 10,000 just to wash away California.
Yup, got to alpine 845, left at 10 after 2 runs, wish I would have hit up some backcountry instead, but too late for me and not sure I would have found parking anyway (maybe someone can give a west shore parking update). So far this season scoring a midweek resort pow day with no lines is like chasing a polka dotted unicorn.
Looks like 88 just opened from Peddler to Silver Lake. Now just the spur to go.....
sound like other area spared, but heave socked in by east wind fog which created a zipper crust on everything and shitty viz. still skied great but for sure a let down after the last few days of awesomeness. was the rest of carson range (i.e. rose) dealing with same? was this fog in meyers mtns as well? sigh.......
Buddy told be the Nevada side sucked today, I'd like to know how widespread also. When I left my house in the am in the Angora burn area it was 28 degrees but it was misting light rain. FP was socked in on the upper half this morning, looking at it this afternoon there is a skinner up it. The great one while still socked in and super low vis produced the best turns of the year! 15 degrees at the top of CS today

All the locals think the resorts save the good stuff for the weekenders. All the weekenders think they save the good stuff for the locals. In reality the resorts--at least Squalpine--doesn't give a shit about either.
Still shut at 2P, most of the chairs off the cable. Sherwood was supposed open at noon. After waiting a half hour while they tried to get it started I herringboned up to Lakeview, did a lap, on my way down they open Ray's Rut and Sherwood. Halfway down Ray's we were met by people hiking back--Sherwood was down for the day. Props to KSL for all the money they spend on ops and maintenance.
Friday has been a weekend for a long time--often bigger than Sunday.
Thinking of a SF day trip Sunday or Monday for Castle Peak BC. Seems like the snow pack is settling down. Anyone been up there yet, or going this weekend? Central chute should be plastered.
Well today skied good. Very good. Here's to more tomorrow
